Talking SOLVED: Need Help Identifying A Song I heard in Ruby Tuesday

    Hello Everyone,

I need help Identifying a song I heard frequently while working in Ruby Tuesday.

I have trouble with the main chorus lyrics because it can be interpreted into many different sayings....

Here are the lyrics I do know....

So you came from a small town that's where you stayed
True to yourself that's why you're hurting now
Boy the city will wear you thin pull you apart in every direction
If you get around like that, but what if you let go of your (?avant?)

    Listen to the music..
You got to go with it every day.......
    ....
    listen to the music..

(main track: sounds to me like" Thundering, thundering, so cold the winter it froze so hard, the dirty ice clung to the cave just like a rocky landscape"

The song is sung by a lady...

I've been trying to figure this song out for months now & I've googled the lyrics with no result.
It's a great song, very catchy.

Oh my god.. We have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I've been trying to find this same song for about 5 months now. It's rediculous. It's such a catchy song and yet I have to try to write down the lyrics from the crappy sound system at work.. you got much more than I did.. but it's rediculous because it's like it DOES NOT EXIST on the internet. Can someone please help us find this song or what? It's a female, she sings the lyrics pretty quickly it's like a song about living on the city streets, referring to the city as 'rocky landscapes, cold pavement'.. and basically what Bronza said.

Bronza all I would add to what you got is:

She said "so cold" or "woah oh" a lot and stresses like Soooo Cold
    "..the city's melody.."
    "..cling to the pavement"

There are sites I can't get to during lunch (work place filters) so you will have to run these suggestions down:

    "So Cold" by Gisela
    "So Cold" by Holly McNarland
    "So Cold" by Shakespear's Sister

Thx for the suggestions but after hearing each, I 99% confirm not the first one, especially not the lyrics, 100% not the other two. Whew, this is a rough one to find. Bronza is very close on the lyrics. It's amazing a search for any of the lyrics comes up empty.

All I can think at this point, she sings the words so fast, like speed-talking them almost that I wonder if they aren't even considered lyrics so they aren't recorded anywhere online and the name of the song is completely random to what it's about, basically life on the streets in the cold, hence when she keeps saying "So Cold.."

In short: She sounds American/Canadian. There's no reference or themes of romance, seems she singing to "you" as the person who's so cold, living on the streets. The store I work at is a major department chain, they play typical non-offensive songs from 80's to the present, it's all billboard top hit songs, there's not a single song they play you can't instantly google cept for this one.
