I need help here guys:
Way back in the late 80's early 90's there was this rap video that was often shown on either Yo MTV Raps or BET's Rap video show. I think the title of the song was called "SMOOTH" because the hook would repeat it over and over again after each verse. Very catchy beat/hook with a lot of bass.
I think this group was from New York City and the ethnicity of the group was certainly Latin or Puerto Rican. The theme of the video may have featured some B-Boy & breakdancing/grafetti but I'm not entirely certain. It was a group of rappers and not just one soloist. I'm almost positive that the name of the song is simply "SMOOTH" but I don't know the name of the group or the name of the album or even if they did one.
I've been looking for this song for YEARS and I' have NEVER been able to find it. I would say this video was shown maybe in 1988 or 1990...deffinitley around this time period. I would certainly consider this song to be ULTRA RARE...as I've never heard anyone playing it over the years....the last time I heard it would've been when I saw the video waaaaaaay back in the day.
New Yorkers from this era may be able to help me with this song/video.
Any help is appreciated
