The sound quality is to degraded for me to understand the first 2 songs. If you have better copies at home, try writing down the lyrics and then doing a google search for them.
    my usually search to include:
    1) the word "lyrics"
    2) a few common word from the song
    3) a short, unique phrase in quotation marks

thats succesful about 95% of the time, give it a shot.

Unfortunately, I'm here for a friend who is backing up his 20+ years old cassette types to CDs.
Most of these cassette types are from late 70s and early 80s and the quality is not that good.
Any how I will try to catch something using a headphone and try again.
    thanks for your advice.

I have also tried to google parts of the lyrics, but no results :-(

I don't speak english fluently but I was able to transcribed this from the first song. Maybe someone can correct.

    Sandy oh Sandy
    My sweet ??homie??
    Sandy oh Sandy
    What am I gonna be?

    There's no more of ???????
As I see her now and look around
I can hardly see the tenderness we shared long long time
    Long time ago

    Hear my ??fear??
    Sandy oh Sandy
    My sweet ???homie???
    Sandy oh Sandy
    What am I gonna be
    Sandy oh Sandy
    Won't you care about me
    Sandy oh Sandy
We still have a chance, oh sweet

Love is free and sometimes is ????so cool???
Never knew that it could hurt so bad
I thought once again that I could change her mind
As I did long time ago

    Hear my ??fear??
    Sandy oh Sandy
    My sweet ???homie???
    Sandy oh Sandy
    What am I gonna be
    Sandy oh Sandy
    Won't you care about me
    Sandy oh Sandy
We still have a chance, oh sweet

YMMD with this post! Now I too "understand" the same thing all the time, well thanks a lot!
homie = homeboy. I must be priceless how a girl would gaze if you called her "homie"

I understand: MILES AWAY FROM ME

But I could be wrong, too.

One thing I am very sure about that it was a popular song in the 70ies in Germany. I really recognized it from the first sound,. But I do not know the Artist. Maybe a one-hit-wonder.

    I believe is

    Sandy oh Sandy
    My sweet, hold me

OK. Now the reggae one, and my favorite.
That is more difficult. I was able to transcribe only a part. But couldn't find it yet

    Rock little children rock
Give the life all you got
    Play little children play
To my world so far away
    Sing little children sing
About the joy your life can ???bring???
    Dance little children dance
You won't get a second chance

??Plant a seed and watch it grow???
Like a flower a love must grow

    That was awesome f_oliver2003 !!
I always understood "Sing little GYPSY" instead of "sing little children sing"
Now with all those "children" lines, there's finally a true guide what to look for!

    Next line sounds like
"a shining pot with a heart of gold" (?)

Do a search for "Sandie oh Sandie"

Looks like it could maybe be the band "Turkish Blend" ?

The voices / style sounds not exact, but similar (Ex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BFh-H430TI) but I didn't see that song specifically. I dunno. Maybe not.

Fantastic find! That could really be it:
    http://www.musicstack.com/item.cgi?item=103828564

Turkish Blend - "Sandie Oh Sandie" (1977)
French band. And I can clearly hear a French accent in there, too.

    tomorrow's so far away

I wonder how did you find it/
I checked different spells for my search (Cindy - Cindi - Cindie) but never Sandie.

Million thanks to all for their help Specially you and anickname.

Well actually I ... didn't find anything at all, frankly spoken. anickname did all the work, so pass the kudos to him, less to me I just took his infos as a basis for research...
I confess that I would never have thought of that sort of spelling either, since I rather had a "Cindy" in mind than a "Sandy" from the beginning.
