old and forgotten

Hello friends. I am looking for very old and forgotten song (1970-1973). Sings real man. Voice is rough and smoky, in the middle of the song singer starts to cough, then again sings, and at the end of the song an old circus march. HELP.

The reference to an old circus march reminds me of "Spinning Wheel" by Blood, Sweat and Tears. However, a cough in the middle of a song does not ring any bells.
