English to Italian! Help Norah Jones go baroque

I would love for someone to help me get an elegant translation of "Don't know why" to perform as an encore on a concert of 17th century Italian music. I can get literal translations, but I need something more poetic and idiomatic that can fit the tune well.

I noticed there is a typo in the version I posted:
It should be: "Driving down the road ALONE" not "along" If I could trouble you a little further, how would that change the Italian phrase?

the poetic translation is good tzina, I would have translated it the same way!!!
even if you're not italian your italian is perfect!!!!
