It's a little odd to translate this line out of the context, but i guess the idea is that hapiness is not the purpose of our actions.

You are right , out of context it's tough . But I knew that a literal translation was not what was called for in this situation . In the same way that popular expressions ( colloquialisms) need to be translated as an idea not word for word . I know that I'm still learning italian , ho imparato cio' ( la povvera
quantita' ) che so io stesso .. sensa scuola ma per l'aiuto dalle persone
con cui condivido per computer come lei , but with the kindness of those
