Also a question to everyone especially the egytptian speakers :-) What is special about the Egyptian dialect as opposed to other dialects. I really like Egyptian but lots of people are very negative when I say I am learning this dialect. They tell me to learn Gulf Arabic or Syrian but I think Masriya is easier and nicer..

P.s for 'How old are you?' can you also say '3andak kam sana?' Does it mean the same as '2d eih 3omrak?' If so which one is better to say.

Yes you can say 3andek km sana

Usually people will tell you to learn their dialect.. and some people have a bias or hate to other cultures so that may be the cause.. Other than that I don't know.. if you were to learn Gulf mainly gulf speakers will understand you because it is the most difficult of Arabic dialects.

Egyptians use the English term Nervous for their word Narfez [because the phonetic pronunciation of the words are similar] Narfez means angry/annoyed/irritated.. but the English word nervous means like Concerned/worried/uneasy which is actually closer in meaning to khayef/metwater/2l2an so I guess it all depends on which one Mira wanted but its a fun fact for those who didnt know it cuz often times you can ask an Egyptian "are you nervous?" even if their English is decent he/she will answer you thinking you're asking them if they're ticked off.
