Some Nice Thoughts
It is not what you do for your juniors, subordinates or children that is important. It’s what you teach them to do for yourself.
The world suffers a lot not because of the violence of the bad people but because of the silence of the good people.
No one will manufacture a lock without a key. Similarly God does not give problems without solutions. Only we should have the courage and patience to find them.
Success is not the key to happiness but Happiness is the key success.
Birds that live in the lake fly away when the lake dries. But the lotus that grows in the same lake ill die with the lake. So recognize the birds and the lotuses in your life.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch a smile or a caring word. They have the power to create lifelong relations.
There is no one luckier than the one who thinks himself so.
Story - Remember the Duck?
Little Johnny was visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play out in the woods. He practiced in the woods but could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged he headed back for dinner. As he was walking back, he saw grandma’s pet duck. Just out of impulse he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved
In panic, he hid the duck in a pile of woods only to see his sister Sally watching! Sally had seen it all but said nothing.
After lunch that day grandma said, “Sally let’s wash the dishes.” But Sally said, “Grandma Johnny told me he wanted to help me in the kitchen.” Then she whispered to him “Remember the duck?” So Johnny did the dishes. Later that day grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing but grandma said, “Sorry I need Sally to help me make the supper.”
Sally just smiled and said, “Well that’s fine but Johnny told me he wanted to help too.” She again whispered, “Remember the duck.”
So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help. After several days Johnny grew tired of doing both his and Sally’s chores. He couldn’t stand it any longer. He came to grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck.
Grandma knelt down, gave little Johnny a hug and said, “Sweetheart I know. You see I was standing at the window and saw the whole thing. But I forgave you because I love you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.”
Moral: In life whatever you have done whatever is your past…the devil keeps throwing it up in your face. You need to know that God was standing at the window and He saw it all. He is just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you.
This is a common mistake: It should be "master of his fate" (fortune) or rather "master of his own fate".
Basically it refers to one who is (or seems to be) in control of his own fortune or achievements; making things happen instead of idly waiting for something to fall in your lap.
And to fall in your lap means something that just came to you all by itself. You got lucky!
But luck doesn't grow on trees.. the idiom is Money doesn't grow on trees. Money does not just fall in your lap
you have to earn it somehow. Or steal it. That would also work
...... I did NOT just say that out loud.

When adults say, "Teenagers think they are invincible" with that sly, stupid smile on their faces, they don't know how right they are. We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are. We cannot be born, and we cannot die. Like all energy, we can only change shapes and sizes and manifestations. They forget that when they get old. They get scared of losing and failing. But that part of us greater than the sum of our parts cannot begin and cannot end, and so it cannot fail." - basically teenagers are invincible![]()
Hehe, here we go again ........
Can't anyone ever remember that adults used to be teenagers too?
Who's afraid of failing? I am ******* invincible too. That's how I got to be an adult.
Just saying
So how many idioms are there in what I just wrote? Hehe just trying to stay on topic ...
