özle is the base of verb, so when you say

özlüyor= (he/she) is missing --> for all subjects (i-you-he/she/it-we-you-they) özlüyorum-özlüyorsun-özlüyor-özlüyoruz-özlüyorsunuz-özlüyorlar
özledi=(he/she) missed --> özledim-özledin-özledi-özledik-özlediniz-özlediler
özler=(he/she) misses --> özlerim-özlersin-özler-özleriz-özlersiniz-özlerler
özleyecek=(he/she) will miss --> özleyeceğim-özleyeceksin-özleyecek-özleyeceğiz-özleyeceksiniz-özleyecekler

the problem was clarified by wisalis,i think..becos there is no such thing(as l learnt) ''are u missING''?(özlüYOR musun?)'' we translated like a ''do u miss''

Thank you for the responses everyone, I didn't think I would start such a long discusion

In English you can say are you missing or do you miss but the latter is more commonly used.

My main confusiong part was why not say "İstanbul'u özledi misin" for
did you miss Istanbul, instead of "İstanbul'u özledin mi"? But in a language it is sometimes better to not question why something is the way it is.

Now, perhaps I should go back to using this forum for its original purpose

like when i want to say nice to meet u can i say memnun oldum ?
and when i say i like something like roses or something
can i say severim or seviyorum
guler cok severim or guler com seviyorum
i dont know how to use the tence when i talk do i end it with iyor or like severim isterim when i talk to someone
and i have another one like when i ask u like do u like songs
can i say sarkilar sever misun ? or sarkilar seviyor misun
and is nt it in english how can i use it in turkish degil mi
and there is word i listen to it in turkish but i dont know how to write it ,it like ( De me ) sound like that and its come in end of sentence
and my last Qustion when i say i wanna get out of or i want to go to turkey is right to write this

***The verbs like "love, like, want, feel..." in English are used with present tense and not with continuous (wşth some exceptions of course). But in Turkish, you can use them with continouous tense "-(I)yor". "seviyorum, istiyorum" and so on.

"deme" = Don't say. But I don't know the exact word of course. If you learn, tell me, I'll explain.

Yeaah, Alp you might be right. That's reasonable. If it is so, then the translation should be like this:

"di mi (değil mi?)*" = Isn't it?

*We sometimes say "değil mi?" as "di mi?" in everyday speech and spoken language.

Kind Turkish friends, can I trouble one of you to translate the following verse out of Sezen Akus's "Sarışınım?" I would like to have an English translation which would FLOW and NOT be choppy if it's possible. I want it to make sense where it would read "like a story" and not have each line being left hanging. I want it to connect and work together. It doesn't have to be absolutely accurate or precise, so if you strear away from being literal, then that's absolutely fine.

Bir eda, bir çalım aldın başını gittin /
Ne kadar masum bir şeyi terkettin /
Avunurken olur, olmaz aşklarla /
Seni hem sevdim, hem senden nefret ettim /

This is exactly what I was asking for.

You don't know how much this really means to me. I really do appericiate it since that's just what I wanted. Yes, a free translation and not a literal translation is often best for foreigners like myself to understand the message of the verse/song. Literal translation could also work; however, I know that it wouldn't work in the case of the verse above. Nonetheless, you've done what I've asked for and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing it.

you are welcome thinair no need to thank! well actually i dont like translating in a literal way because poetic lines sound pretty nonsense at most of the time. so i totally agree with you on that. but there are people who try to learn turkish, that's why sometimes we need to translate word-to-word.
