dumming up songs... Do you think artist are?
As you know many people think hip hop is dead. In a way i think it is, what about you? I feel that really the lyrics are dumbed up these days. Its the same topics over and over again and reused vocabulary. Am i wrong? If i am tell me why i am.....

what do u consider hip hop??? and the lyrics in alot of the songs today are dumbing us and are about basicly the same things...yet i sill luv todays music...like on 93.9 WTBX

You need to go underground... Underground Hip Hop is still hip hop. Living Legends (Aceyalone, Grouch, Murs...) Also, Heiroglyphics, Zion I, The Roots, Dilated Peoples, Black Eyed Peas (early stuff), Brand Nubian, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Digable Planets, Blackalicious, A Tribe Called Quest, Goodie Mob (first CD) for starters....

To me hiphop is an art form but these days its been a tragedy! i consider music that you can dance to and get exited about is hip hop. Theres a flow but when its filled with Profanity and the n-word its worthless junk! icant tell you what i think is hip hop but i can tell you what i think hip hop isnt. and profanity that exessive is really unessesary, its wack when its not but its hot and right when it is... i just love the music not too much the lyrics.

However, ... it is NOT just "hip-hop" ... it is NOT just the United States ... !!! ... !!! ... !!! ...
What is TOTALLY unfortunate, is that the WHOLE MUSICAL SPECTRUM has been ... "sensationalised" AND "stupified" ... ... ... !!! ... ... ...
AND, ... it is EVERYWHERE in the WORLD ... !!! ... ... ... !!! ...

I wouldnt really know because rock musik.... the lyrics i dont understand...too many metaphors so all i can name is hip hop as a point. Its true... united states!

That is so true! Hiphop is great and i love it, but its lyrics are like going
downhill and they are either like really stupid or really like sick or they are just
alll the same, nevertheless i still love the music
