This song was recorded, I think in the 1960's. It is a comedy piece - a play on the names of various vegetables, eg. "My sister Jean's always eating beans, My little brother, leeks. I just saw Ma lick a piece of garlic. Everybody duck when she speaks!" and a chorus of "If you like beetroot, I'll be true to you."

If anyone can post the full original lyrics, I shall be very grateful.
