I’m lying in our bed
Awake to the sound of your breathing
It’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard
You open your eyes
I say “Go back to sleep”
Go back to sleep

You’re looking at me
Your lips so tender
You’re warm in my arms
I hold onto your arching back
You’re body’s slender
Oh so slender

And I’m so lucky to have you
You look at me all fresh faced and new
Yes you look your best when you’ve just woke up
Messy hair and no makeup

Sitting on the sofa
Your head buried in my shoulder
And I turn to the scent of your dark brown hair
You smile and say :
I hope we’re like this when we’re older

But we’ll never know
We’ll just never know what the future holds

Perhaps we could stay in this moment
Sprawled out on our bed of four leaf clovers

And I’m so lucky to have you
