Post It's Lonely in this Coffin

When my breath is gone,
What will they remember?
Will they carry on,
Or carry a burning ember?
When they lay me in the ground,
Will they visit my grave?
Or will I just be that mound,
They drive by and wave?

What kind of life have I led?
What have I left them behind?
As I'm laid in this dirt bed,
Will I be truly refined?
I have to make this right,
And I have to do it today.
For if I die tonight,
There'd be no dismay.

Will they think of me everyday,
Or just the day after?
Will it be of my decay,
Or will it be of my laughter?
Will they leave me flowers?
Or will they leave me bare?
Will they cry for hours?
Or just say a quick prayer?

What kind of life have I led?
What have I left them behind?
As I'm laid in this dirt bed,
Will I be truly refined?
I have to make this right,
And I have to do it today.
For if I die tonight,
There'd be no dismay.

What kind of life have I led?
What have I left them behind?
As I'm laid in this dirt bed,
Will I be truly refined?
Truely refined.
Truly refined.

And after the years have passed,
Will they remember what I have done?
Will my impact on this world last?
Or will it be left up to my son?
Will my name be on a plaque?
Or just the stone above my head?
Would they be glad to have me back?
Or are they glad that I am dead?

What kind of life have I led?
What have I left them behind?
As I'm laid in this dirt bed,
Will I be truly refined?
I have to make this right,
And I have to do it today.
For if I die tonight,
There'd be no dismay.

I have to make this right,
And I have to do it today.
For if I die tonight,
There'd be no dismay.
Dismay.
Dismay.

And how will I be dressed?
How will I be displayed?
Will I be in my Sunday best?
Or will I look decayed?
Will the coffin be of oak?
Or made out of plywood?
Has my life been a joke,
Or have I been misunderstood?

The time has come,
My end is near.
It must be done,
Gotta lose this fear.
Gotta choose my ways,
And choose them right.
So at the end of my days,
There is no fright,
So I can be the white light
That shines bright,
To fight the black knight,
Despite his right to excite,
And ignite and fight back.
He'll attack, and he'll smack,
But I ain't gonna crack.
I ain't gonna give in.
On this fight within,
Cuz if I begin to sin,
Then that's when he wins.

This fight will go on,
Till the day I die.
Till the break of dawn,
No use to deny.
It's the battle of will,
And my will be done.
It won't end until,
My next life has begun.

This fight will go on,
Till the day I die.
Till the break of dawn,
No use to deny.
It's the battle of will,
And my will be done.
It won't end until,
My next life has begun.

Any advice/ criticism is welcome and appreciated.
