Hello I am a new member on this forum, and I have been writing lyrics consistently for over a year now and I would like to get some comments and criticisms about them. I feel my lyrics defy any genre because I feel they are different, mostly because I feel I have a lot to say.Anyway I'll leave that up to you.Here are 3 of my lyrics, look forward to your reviews, thank you.
Time To Put Off The World
The actors here show only what they want to see
It reminds us of our grief
Always a touch too far of relief
After the prayers have ended
We move on to the reception
It's all so beautiful, but comfort can only be perception
Time to put off the world
Before I realize my position
It's always hot here
Alone I linger overlooking the valley of man
I am not frail, I just don't care declare what I am.
Lately I've been out of touch with faith
We only live because we are afraid of death
But I fear life more than death,
Now there is someone who won't leave me be
She disturbs my thoughts, she's on to me
"Wasn't the service just beautiful?"
"Yes, God must surely be proud"
"And surely that means a lot to the crowd"
"For it must be good to know He is being fair for once"
"You have doubts over His divinity?
That is the essence of modern simplicity."

New confrontation of old sentiments,
Caresses the shame on my face
As I apologize to the liberal young receptionist
It may seem I have it in for him but that is not the case

There's Every Reason To Be Nervous Now
She wants to be taken out tonight
Where people are molested for all the right reasons
He wants to stay in, here comes a fight

She must go out tonight
With friends who have no qualms in being used
They seek pleasure in places not too bright.
Moving under the pole,
Everybody wants to take her home
"I have no home so their home is mine"
Nothing in this darkness is ever real
There is no feeling she cannot steal
She crashes into someone's arms
"I'll only stay by your side,
If you're willing to lie"
We only want to lose it all
When we have everything
Our greatest conquests are our worst punishments
So there can only be pleasure in defeat.
"I should have taken her out, tonight
But where people flock in a crowd their is only risk
I should always keep her by my side
Now I know the only thing to be done is to tell her how I feel,
But a natural fear has taken hold and I couldn't say it for real"
She's free to go anywhere, she doesn't care
Just being out, close and far
Makes her smile more than he ever could
