How could you go and beat your own kid?
Especially something so minor they did.
Like spill their milk,
or color outside the lines,
Things they did that wasnt a big deal.
That doesnt mean you should take away a meal,
or leave them in a closet,
How could you do it?!

Broken down and beaten,
the boy lays scared,
Trying not to start screaming,
and no one cared.

Does it make you feel better,
seeing them in pain?
Or does it satisfy your needs,
like some kind of game?
The child is a reflection of you,
Do you even know what he's going through?
Having to come home and get abused,
having to come home and some how get through it.
How could you do it?!

Unforgivable,
is what you are.
Undeniable,
the things you did.
How could you do it?
To a little kid!
Now the kid is gone,
Never to have to see your face again.
In a better place,
he can finally rest,
after feeling like such a pest.

I think you should try to use more metaphors. The song is really straight forward. It's good but i think you might be able to get your point across with out being so blunt.

I agree with erin11 it just need a bit more metaphors to cover up the directed meanings, so it can be more fun for ppl to figure what your message trying to say. releasing message in directed way just lose it's abtractions.

I don't agree with the message 100% as I'm against child abuse, but I think kids need some physical discipline. Recently people seem to believe if you tell your kids no that it will mentally scar them. Although the writing overall is good. On a side note, it really reminded me of a Maddox article, I don't want to post the whole article, so heres a picture..

uhh, the message is just explain that parents or ppl abusing child without the intend of disciplines rather than a harsh discipline even the child haven't done anything wrong. ^^;
