Its good to know you can always count on your friends
They promise to your face, and you believe them to the end
But then they change their minds, you’re outside they close the blinds
And suddenly you realize you don’t want to make amends

You wonder why you didn’t see that they were never really there
You were by yourself through everything,, they barely even cared
They lied, they hide, they never tried
While all you wanted was to confide
But now this day you realize, that you don’t even need them.

All these years have passed, the like sand in glass
And I thought you that I could trust
But one day you realize, our friendship was really
nothing more than dust.
You were never there, you didn’t care
I was always on my own.
Its bad when the ones you depend upon
All vanish and you’re alone

You wonder why you didn’t see that they were never really there

Because there are some you know you need, that have always been around
You’ve shown them all you have to give, they’ve heard your true sound

They’re your dearest, you see them clearest, they always seem to shine
You need them more than you ever had before, and its good to know they’re mine
And even though there’s some paper friends, that blow away in the llightest breathe,
Its good to know that you’ll always have your bests.
