MAASIKA KLAARIKA - URSULA
'Strawberry Klaarika' by Ursula
Suvi käes ja linnast tahan ära sõita ma,
Summer is here and I want to go away from city
tahan sinna, kus on maasikad.
I want to go there, where are strawberries
Pikad põllud, vaod metsa taha jooksevad,
Long fields, furrows running behind the woods
vao lõpus ootab mind kubjas Klaarika.
in the end of the furrow an overseer named Klaarika waits for me.

Linna jäid mul ema-isa, väike koerake,
My mother-father, little dog are left behind in the city
ega ma neid taga igatse.
but I don't miss them.
Kotti pakitud on särgid, püksid, sokid, põlvikud,
In the bag are packed shirts, pants, socks, bobby-sox
naljaviluks maisitõlvikud.
and just for fun, corncobs.

Kaasa võetud vanaisa vana fotokas,
Granddad's old camera is taken with me
et saaks mõned pildid tehtud.
that some pictures could be made.
Mina olin kõige rohkem ühe pildi peal,
I was at most on one photo
teiste peal mind polnud nähtud.
on other photos I have not been noticed.

Ja kui aasta pärast jälle kokku saame,
And when we meet again after one year
rühmaülemaga sõbralikult ulatame käed.
we friendly shake hands with teamleader (groupleader)
Ei ole vaja traktorit, ei mootorsaage,
there's no need for tractor, or motorsaw
me ÕM-is kvaliteetse töö tagame.
we at Student Brigade guarantee quality work

The lyrics and content may sound weird to you, but to get this fully, you need to know little history of Estonia.
Because we still have Summer camps under this Õpilasmalev-name, but the words sound like this song is about Õpilasmalev in somewhere starting from year 1970. And those days we had very different lifestyle and different politics here in Estonia; it has sort of nostalgic feeling in it
Have nice time, and I hope my translation is good enough for you!
