My dear Brazilian and Portuguese friends! Would you be so kind to translate this song for me, por favor.

JORGE E MATEUS - PODE CHORAR

Quase que acabo com a minha vida
Você me pôs num beco sem saída
Por que fez isso comigo?
Me dediquei somente a você

Você não vai me convencer

To make it easier here it is the song from YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SmOgZLpH0k

Muito obrigado!

Well I'm not Brazilian nor Portuguese, but I can try to help you

I almost put an end to my life
You put me in a dead end
But why you did that with me?
I dedicated myself only to you
I did everything I could
but no, I didnt advance (or approach you)

You don't know what is love
You don't know what is love
You find that he is only same to be, to be
roll, rolled
You do not mistreat the heart
of the one who doesnt deserve to suffer
I won't be in solitude of hand in hand
as well as you

You can cry
But I won't come back to you
You can cry
You won't convince me
You can cry
Do you remember how I cried for you?

that's it, corrections are welcome!

Adrienne and DeBaires, thank you very much! But I've still got some questions.
1. Não se maltrata o coração - You do not mistreat the heart... But what about "se"? As I know "se maltrata" is Brazilian form of "maltrata-se". And I would translate it like "mistreat myself"... What can you say about it? (I'm sorry, I'm only beginner in Portuguese.)
2. "You find that by yourself you stay*
roll, rolled"- Unfortunately my English isn't good enough too, so would you like explane this idioma ...
Thank you again.

Hello! I'm from Brazil and i think i can explain that to you, AndaribnMuzibek.
1. Yes, you're almost right. "Não se maltrata o coração" you can translate as "Do not mistreat the heart itself", not "myself" because it would be "Não me maltrata o coração". The subject in "Não se maltrata o coração" is Coração. It something like "You cannot mistreat the heart". "se" is a reflexive particle of the verb.
2. The second part is a little hard to explain... that is like a slang (or an idiom) in portuguese. It means that in this song, the girl doesn't like to date, she wants a relationship without commitment and she lets the things of love happen haphazard...
I hope you can understand what i mean

Obrigado Lesenna.

Sempre confundo-me.

I don't know if there's a "Learning Portuguese Language" section. If so, hopefully a moderator will be so kind as to move this there

Tchau!

Hola!

espero tengas entendido...

O mundo não me foge
A estrada é grande e larga
E eu levo o albornoz
Caminho à luz do dia
Por campos e montanhas
E bebo a água fria
E a sede não me apanha

Azul, e eu não resisto
Ao céu, ao céu profundo
Distante,
E eu insisto

Life doesn't let go of me
The world doesn't run away of me
The road is big and large
And I carry the albornoz (an arabean wool coat)
I walk on day light
Through fields and mountains
And I drink cold water
And the thirst doesn't get me
And the sky is beautifull,
Blue, and I can't resist it
To the sky, the deep sky,
Far away,
And I insist
Tomorrow

Listen online

Lá iá lá iá...
Lá iá lá iá....

Caminhando e cantando
We are marching and singing
E seguindo a canção
and following the melody
Somos todos iguais
We are all the same
Braços dados ou não
Holding arms or not (i)
Nas escolas, nas ruas
In schools, in streets
Campos, construções
(In) Fields and construction zones
Caminhando e cantando
We are marching and singing
E seguindo a canção
and following the melody

Vem, vamos embora
Come on, let's depart
Que esperar não é saber
The wait is not the wisdom
Quem sabe faz a hora
The wise doesn't waste the opportunity
Não espera acontecer...
And never waits to happen

Pelos campos há fome
In the country there is hunger (ii)
Em grandes plantações
around huge plantations
Pelas ruas marchando
In the streets, are marching
Indecisos cordões
confused crowds
Ainda fazem da flor
To whom the flower
Seu mais forte refrão
is their strongest singing
E acreditam nas flores
And they believe that flowers
Vencendo o canhão...
can win against the cannon

Vem, vamos embora
Come on, let's depart
Que esperar não é saber
Because the wait is not the wisdom
Quem sabe faz a hora
The wise doesn't waste the opportunity
Não espera acontecer...
And never waits to happen

Há soldados armados
There are armed soldiers
Amados ou não
Ever loved or not
Quase todos perdidos
Most of them are lost
De armas na mão
hand holding a gun
Nos quartéis lhes ensinam
In the barracks they are taught
Uma antiga lição
An well-known lesson
De morrer pela pátria
"To die for the mother land"
E viver sem razão... (iii)
But to live reasonless

Vem, vamos embora
Come on, let's depart
Que esperar não é saber
Because the wait is not the wisdom
Quem sabe faz a hora
The wise doesn't waste the opportunity
Não espera acontecer...
And never waits to happen

Nas escolas, nas ruas
In schools, in streets
Campos, construções
(In) Fields and construction zones
Somos todos soldados
We all are like soldiers
Armados ou não
Armed or not
Caminhando e cantando
Marching and singing
E seguindo a canção
And following the melody
Somos todos iguais
We are all the same
Braços dados ou não
Holding arms or not

Os amores na mente
In the mind, remain passions
As flores no chão
On the floor hang the flowers
A certeza na frente
Way ahead is the certainty
A história na mão
In the hand is the history (iv)
Caminhando e cantando
Marching and singing
E seguindo a canção
And folowing the melody
Aprendendo e ensinando
We go learning and teaching
Uma nova lição...
A brend new lesson

Vem, vamos embora
Come on, let's depart
Que esperar não é saber
Because the wait is not the wisdom
Quem sabe faz a hora
The wise doesn't waste the opportunity
Não espera acontecer...
And never waits to happen

-------------------------------------------------
(i) This has a poetic sense, but reads "we are all the same, united or not"

(ii) Here campo mean "the country side of the state, farms, fields, etc"

(iii) sem razão may mean the adjective 'reasonless' or the adverb 'without reason ' or even "to be right". I believe that he means the last sense in the song.

(iv) Here he means "we are able to draw our history"

Alias "a ação" é feminina.

Hello, everyone. I'm a new member. I downloaded an album from a music store and I would like some help with the lyrics. Since I only have the MP3's, I dont really have the written Portuguese lyrics. But maybe someone here has this album.

The album is called "Deep Brasil". The two songs I need help with are "Terra De Indio" and "Cerradao".

I'm fluent in Spanish and the only thing I can tell is that these two songs talk about Brazil and its rain forests. If anyone can help me, I could even try to send the MP3's.
Thank you very much!!
