Rock these days.... getting better or worse?
What do you guys think about the new age of Rock? Are the new artists these days better or is Rock getting worse? I think it's getting better because of all the new artists coming in and Rock is definetly far from dying, there may be some bad bands here and there but other than that I love all the new albums coming out lately.
Please don't post if you are going to insult in this thread thanks!

I'm a lot older than you, but I think there is still a lot of great rock coming out. I personally like System of a Down. I'm mostly old school. Aerosmith still rules. Interestingly, I ignored David Bowie back in the day because he was too freaky for me. He used to dress in spandex, high plateform shoes and lots of make-up. He's mellowed with age and I'm just rediscovering him now. My favorite new song of his is "She'll Drive the Big Car". He's still making great music. Check out the above song on the Reality Album. Rock Rocks!

I loved the grunge era...but there is glimmer of hope in rock. Most of the stuff is more pop driven. I got more into punk too. Now the genres kinda all blend together. There is some good music out there right now in Rock.

believe me, it's getting better, why would it get worse?
(Panic! AT the Disco / Evans Blue/ Linkin Park/AFI/etc.)

Wow. Rob's girl, way to try rock is getting better by listing all the bands that are responsible for making it worse.
I think popular rock music is getting worse. There are still alot of more than decent rock bands out there, they're just harder to find.

I think it depends on what you consider Rock. I personally think it's getting better, but it's not the same music as before, it's evolving.
I love modern rock bands like Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Trapt,...etc

I agree with Schavc. The genre as a whole is evolving.
Bands that were considered underground for a while are starting to come to light, and are massing fans. Bands that sounded like duplicates of one-another are starting to find their own place, their own style of music. Their own sound. And the genre is definitley improving, but at the same time it all depends on what you like and consider "rock."

I actually like some of Evans Blue's stuff. ^_^ Not so much on the others listed.

I belive that Rock's instrumental sound is evolving for the better but vocals are for the most part getting worse. Here's looking at you Underoath.

I love the rock music these days.. I guess I have always loved rock in general, some of my favorites would have to be story of the year, hawthorne heights, lost prophets, incubus, pink floyd, 311, evanescence but I hope everyone on here has heard of Hinder because they are awesome.. Ive seen them in concert a few times now and each time they seem to amaze me.. Thousand Foot Krutch was awesome too.. I think there are great bands out there, most of the bands I truely think are great mostly cater to rock lovers..
