Need ideas?

need help with turning ideas that i have wrote in a sorta poem form into actual lyrics for a song.. would love the help and would be muchly appreciated .. thanks !!!

hey Jjfo rlyf. As you will probably figure by the time this is over I am new to providing advice on this stuff. I tend to not think about what I'm doing when I do it and I don't produce the best results either haha
But yeah, the best I could really say is find the hook in what you have and develop it into a chorus. Poems tend not to repeat themselves but songs usually have a chorus and that's the bit you want people to remember most.
I would also change the way you're thinking in terms of rythm and so on. Try and get an idea of what kind of music you're writing to and you can allow for pauses more in vocals than in poems. Also, it wouldn't sound strange for a singer to sustain one sound for a while... but if someone reading poetry did it it may sound pretty strange so I would keep that in mind too.
