I love janis joplin, and this cover by melisa and joss, is one of favorite.

It's obviously that the melody line is identical in both songs, at least in the first part of the song!! may be maria would tell us more about the history of the greek song!

But the lyrics are different. Eleni Dimou says that in spite of the fact that life is a bitter and unfair (liar) one and mark us with a lot of wounds , so ,in spite of these, she loves the life!

I'm glad you like ,,The lonely shepherd". The song was made by a german composer - James (Hans) Last. It's played by a romanian pan-pipe performer - Gheorghe Zamfir.

The song is about 30years old but also it was used as one of the soundtracks of a more recent movie - Kill Bill (2003/2004).

Here is another relaxing music by James Last. I wish I were there!
