that is exactly right. Rock is at least about expression of feeling, and not some false sense of security talking about if someone comes up and some something to them the are gonna shoot them. Rock is really the only form of epression music has anymore!

I think some of the rap, yes is hateful and sick, and i despise that rap with a passion. But some rap is good, and cool to listen to. Its not all a lost cause. Listen to KJ52. Hes a good rapper, might be a white dude who drives a minivan, but at least he writes music, not garbage.

No, not all of it is bad. There are a fair few rap songs that have ok Lyrics and then you find some that are nasty. Though, I like the beat on most rap songs. The one thing I hate about it though is there are so many cuss words. But hey, I guess it adds emotion and feeling in their words. Personally I think it's part of a rapper's image. It really depends on the rapper and the song.

k for real im goin to b strait wit u people im white im not racist i listen to rap i dont think is a bad thing to listen to like ppl is goin to say up n here that emo is better really no its not while ppl hate rape for makin girls look like hoes and them walkn round smokn and with gangs signs well *** does emo do basically all you hear is about how there life sucks dien commitn suicide and **** so ya really wat ever music you really listen to it can either give a positive or negitive point its just w/e type of music you listen to and not all lil kidz is born to b racist and born to rap im exact oppisite my parents are racists and i was born n to that and i was born in to country i had country and im strait up cool wit black ppl... so bascially think bout wat yall r putn up here like ya ur speakn ur mind and oppinon but like for real rap gets me more motivated country dulls me and certain rock makes me want to put a gun to my head you cant change the way ppl feel on music either just cuz u listen to rap dont mean u think ur hard or ur n a gang and ****... people these days just need to get over there selfs the racisum needs to quit same wit the makn fun of ppl and the music thing.

Is rock giving out a positive message? Rockers are not "choir boys" you should know.

Think about the lyrics in rock songs, they can be just a bad as rap and sometimes even worse. A song by Hinder called "Get Stoned" is about the thrill of sex while being high. "You Know What they Do To Guys Like Us In Prison" is about prison rape, homosexuality, and murder. "Miss Murder" by AFI is about suicide and lust. "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails is about sex. Nazi-punk bands have lyrics even worse than gangsta rap that are both anti-semitic and racist. I could go on, but I understand what you are trying to say.

It's just that rap is not the only music that's a bad influence--the media does not take this into consideration when the topic of "degrading youth culture" comes up.

Ever hear of indie rap music? It's better than the mainstream stuff. Diplo, J Dilla, Madlib are all great.

If you want to have a better conversation about a topic such as this, find another forum.

RAP SUX!!! Well it's a scientific fact. If you know the science of music then you will know that rap suxs. People that listen to rap are idiots and can't even keep there pants on. They demean women...well if it's equality raps against it.
Why If I had a choice I would keep it around just because it's funny to see someone walking down the street with their pants down to their knees!!
When ever I'm feeling down I just drive down the street and it's a good laugh.
Even more so the wiggers!! Now thats comedy!
