hm... i have found another version of the original lyrics.. with different spelling mostly:
Till Fjälls
Trädgränsens lövsal i brandgul skiftning flammar
(hope the umlaut letters work... i'm not sure whether this is the correct version, because i'm not swedish either... :P )
well, my knowledge of danish, german, and some english (and 4 months of learning swedish, if that counts

) led me to another translation... since i also didn't understand everything, i combined it with skohornet's, and i think it makes a bit more sense now:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To the mountains
The tree-border's/timber-line's (i'm not sure about the word in english, but thats a line from where it's too cold for trees to grow on a mountain, or too far north..)
leaf-hall burns with orange shifting flame
Autumn calls upon/awakes to pay the debt of life
The rumour of the slopes my thirsty soul now nurses
Down over snakelike winds the river
Heavily I travel blindly in the late dusk breeze
Wide mighty mountain-walls like a vast cathedral
The breath of the northern storm rebirths the frost
The cliffs form the dark temple hall
To the mountains, to the mountains where the storm embraces me
To the mountains, to the mountains watched by ravens
Against the horizon stands out the mountain's heights
Snow-adorned tops like pinnacles and towers
They show off up against the sky/clouds (when the worker-sun stops shining/crowding shine is satisfied)
On pathless outlands you hear the spirits horn
To the mountains, to the mountains where the storm embraces me
To the mountains, to the mountains watched by ravens
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure about the end of the 3rd line in verse 3, so i just added my "unsure" version to skohornet's in the brackets.
In line 2 of the 1st verse, and line 3 of the 3rd verse, there's 2 possible translations that make sense (more or less), and i didn't know which one to choose, so decide for youself :P
