Vanda,
thank you very much really. You know, I downloaded this music just by luck. I usually download lots of songs and they are all mixed up in my i-tunes. First time I hear this song, I cried... :-( I couldnt understand what he was singing, but I could feel it was something really sad. Actually I thought Baran meant "Soul" (dont ask me why, it was my imagination). I love this song, but I confess it makes me sad. Now that I understand the lyrics, even more. But I like to learn new words. Problem is that I am starting to mix Farsi with Arabic.
:-) it is funny, today my boss told me that during the weekend he was telling his family how iranians were celebrating their New year, and how you are Persians and no Arabs, and how you speak farsi and not arabic... :-) So, you see, you are influencing more people than myself! :-) Because I tell him the things that I learn. I like to see how people get interested in knowing more about those far away countries. At least in this part of the world, the only thing that we see about midel and far east are immages of war, misery and religious fantism. It is sad, but this is the only image media shows.
Well, I believe you are ready for new translation :-). But Vanda, just do it when you have the time, I still have a lot of homework to do with all the previous songs... It is not so EASY to memorize those words. Although I feel that Farsi is easier than Arabic (alhamdulillah!).
So, next song is also from Omid: Gol e royayee (or something like this).
Besos y hasta mañana (kisses and until tomorrow)
Laura

Hello,
I accidentally found this Persian thread, but now that I'm here I wouldn't mind getting a translation of a song.
The song is called Baroon by group Arian. The video can be seen here
YouTube - arian - baroon
I can't read Arabic script, so I can't post the lyrics, but I would really appreciate if someone could translate the song.
Farsi is a very nice sounding language, a good language for music and poetry.
A while ago I heard of an Afghan saying that goes something like this: When God is angry he speaks in Arabic, but when he is pleased he speaks in Farsi.

Sweet neighbour,
Thank u for ur kind feelings towards iraqis, the same is here,I love Iran and Iranians, not just me,we do all,but blame the media and the ridiculous polotics for distorting this image.
its been 2 years and a half since the last time i saw Baghdad, and my home
I wish someday the situation gets better so i can get home,Inshallah.
I guess u r right, there should be music for dancing, but i think i was negative, coz i like genuine music and to explore the musical and harmonic details.
this trend seems to be dominant in all countries of the world, dont know why, but I believe that the 70s and 80s was really the golden era of the music in all the world.
I really appreciate it if u recommend some songs, i guess u know my taste by now!
I heard of Dariush and mouin but havent listened to their music yet.Enlight me!
Laura u hurt me ! coz i really like FLAMENCO music.
bye for now

Hi Saan. welcome dear
nice choice. i'll do it tomorrow night. ok?
and tnx for your kindness
i think that afghan did'nt like arabs. is'nt it? it's an old spite between arabs and persians(iranians,afghans,tajiks,..)
but i think except khalijian dialect (saudi arabia, UAE and etc- cuz they speak thickly) other accent is good. (it's my opinion)
for example i like egyptin accent or iraqians speak really really eloquent and high class(their accent is near to persian :-)) or tunesians speak really sweet.
anyway, i'm agree with you. farsi is a good language for poetry and we have a lot of poeter. do you know why? cuz we use our parsi words and when we run out of our
language we use arabic words it mixed with our language anyway.*
* i said it already. we have our language and except that we use at least 50% of arabic words.
well. good luck and have a nice day my friend

Dear Simple-girl,
honestly, the fact that you recognize your fault is a thousand times better than your own fault. So dont worry. At least on my side. I deeply like people who is able to recognize their mistakes. And, not only you will rememnber this forever, but everybody who read your thread will remeber what you have said. So, odnt worry. I, personally, congratulate your honesty and simpleness. Worls should have mor epeople like you: able to recognize thir mistakes and amend their wrongs.
Love,
Laura

Thank you very much Vanda dear. It's excellent I know it's not easy to translate lyrics or poetry and still keep the beauty of the song intact.

for example i like egyptin accent or iraqians speak really really eloquent and high class(their accent is near to persian :-)) or tunesians speak really sweet.
anyway, i'm agree with you. farsi is a good language for poetry and we have a lot of poeter. do you know why? cuz we use our parsi words and when we run out of our
language we use arabic words it mixed with our language anyway.*
* i said it already. we have our language and except that we use at least 50% of arabic words.
well. good luck and have a nice day my friend

I don't know much about Arabic, but it does seem to vary across different regions. I have only heard Arabic religious music, and I don't know anything about their contemporary music scene. The hard H and the hard K found in Arabic sound very strange to me.
I didn't know that Persian had so many Arabic words in it. To me it sounds very different from Arabic, I can usually tell the difference right away when I listen to them. It's probably like English having many French words in it, despite being a different language. I also thought that Persian and Urdu are related and have some similarities.
Arian is pretty much the only Iranian band I know, so I might have more translations coming up

Hi All!
Vanda, azizam, thank you again for your translations. Following your advice, I am downloading music form Moein (Mohamad Nouri I cannot find in Limewire -the program I use to download music. I have a Mac,so i cannot use e-mule or the alike).
I also had this song Boro, boro from Arash, and I also like, but i like better another one wich title I do not have. In the video you can see th guy going to a party with lots of girls and they are all trying to flirt with him and the girl he really likes get upset because of the spectacle and leave the party, the guy runs behind her, etc, etc..
I translate (in my own Farsi):
orash behave mikam doset doran
tun dunia fa ha toro doran
orash
bi to man tan hojan
The refrain is "ore, ore, bahare..."
Could you please also translate this song?... I also like it very much.
Merci Vanda!
Simple girl, I am happy you feel better. Please stay with us! :-)
Saan, listen to Baran by Omid. It is also about rain ;-) and I think you will like it.
nice dreams to all of you,
laura

Thanks for the recommendation Ecoliqua. But you can also recommend non-rain related songs if you want

I tried to translate this off of the music video, so if the audio version of the song is different, I apologize. The main parts should all be the same. Hope this helps
(Helena)
Arash behet migam dooset daaram/ Arash, I'm telling you that I love you
too in donya faghat toro daaram/ I have only you in this world
Arash, bi to man tanhaayam/ Arash, without you I am lonely
gooshet baa man baasheh, toro doost daaram/ Listen to me, I love you
(Arash)
Tak o tanhaa tooye in otagh bi to hastam/ I am all alone in this room, without you
Hala bi to inja dar be dar baroon mibareh/ It's raining without you here
Too in shabe bahari, to door az man/ In this spring night, you're far from me
Biya inja setareh, be man begoo areh/ Come here, star, tell me "yes" (note: Setareh = star, also a feminine name)
(Helena)
Areh areh bahare, miyam pishet dobare/ Yes, yes, it's spring, I will come to you again
Arash bi to sardame, ey eshghe man/ Arash, without you I'm cold, O my love.
Areh areh bahare, emshab del bigharaare/ Yes, yes, it's spring; tonight the heart is restless
Arash to maale mani, ey eshghe man/ Arash, you're mine, O my love
(Arash)
Zendegi ba to kheyli khoobe/ Life is wonderful with you
Harvaght to inja hasti, hamash bahare/ Anytime you're here, it's always spring
Dast be dast nazanin ba ham baashim/ Hand in hand, dear, let's be together (note: Nazanin = dear, also a feminine name)
Esmamo seda kon, be man begoo areh/ Call my name, tell me "yes"
(Helena)
Areh areh bahare, miyam pishet dobare/ Yes, yes, it's spring, I will come to you again
Arash bi to sardame, ey eshghe man/ Arash, without you I'm cold, O my love.
Areh areh bahare, emshab del bigharare/ Yes, yes, it's spring; tonight the heart is restless
Arash to maale mani, ey eshghe man/ Arash, you're mine, O my love

oh! thanks, thanks, Nooresabz, It is really nice to understand the lyrics. And they dont seem to be difficult anyway: live, heart, alone, I love you... It is a really great feeling to understand some things :-). But, why is the song named "Helena"?...
Well, as it seems we have more people around translating, i would like to have some translations from Googoosh:
--Ahooye eshgh
--Dokhtare darya (this was the first Iranian song I ever hear in my life)
--Parandeh
Pol (what means Pol?!... My second surname is Pol :-). In spain everybody has 2 surnames, the first one from your father and the second from your mother, and kids will inherit the first one of each parent. So Pol is the surname of the father of my mother.
Well, thank you in advance to the ones who help translating,
Laura
