Here's my best shot at the translation of the spanish verses of "Dooset Daram":

Como vino embriagador --- Like an intoxicating wine
de mi vida eres lo mejor --- you're the best thing in my life
no me importa que puedan pensar --- I don’t care what they could think
a tu lado me quiero quedar --- by you side I want to stay.
Desde que yo te conoci --- Ever since I met you
emociones me haces sentir --- you made me feel emotions
eso yo no lo quiero perder --- that I don’t want to lose
a tu lado me siento mujer --- next to you I feel like a woman

This is a great song! Besides the lyrics, I love the beat, especially the part where the dumbeks and tablas fuse with the bongos and latin guitar as well as piano riffs (typical of salsa music). (Around minute 1:58 to 2:23)

I have a question. The song "Arash" features the singer Helena. Does she have any solos or is she featured in any other songs? She has beautiful and angelic voice I wish I could hear more of her.
hey David jan... thank you. mamnoon :X :X :X I really like this song too. tnx tnx tnx again
about Helena I don't know exactly , but if I find anything about her I will share it with you :X

Salam Vanda,
I have read the same opinion from many people living inside iran.
And I agree about the censorship in Iran, it has kept many artists from expressing themselves freely. But I still think that iranian filmmakers have used very clever and creative ways to send their message across. The authorities have more often than not become suspicious and have censored and/or banned many of the really good films. Abbas Kiarostami's films are a perfect example. Have you by any chance watched any of the films that I mentioned before? Almost all of them have won international awards, and a few years ago, The Guardian Newspaper from the UK included Abbas Kiarostami and Samira Makhmalbaf on the list of the world's best 40 film directors. I hope I can make you at least a little bit proud of your fellow iranian filmmakers, regardless of censorship and politics, they are still among the most talented in the world...

Regards,

David.
I've seen "range khoda" and "badkonake sefid" and "bache haye aseman" many years ago on TV. and we staudied the script of "bache haye aseman" in highschool. really impressive...
but I donno if you've seen a film these years. e.x last year. really really bad. I can't endure it even 1 minute. you see... women have to wear scarf even in inter scans rediculously. like in home... It really makes me sick.

LOVE
Vandi

I like idin ( )and arash as well! Oh yeah and ashkan and kooshan...though they only have 2 songs out so far.

So what are some of your favorite singers/bands?
yes I know those three cute boys and I'm really waithing for their Album "Persianality"... ofcourse there is a bad copy (I mean quality) of this persianality but I'm waithing for original one.
I've heard "nilufar" and "amar" and "persianality" so far. nilfar is amazing, thought the lyric is nonsense :-(

yes I should be on the magazine not that black crows =))
ofcourse I never wear Chador (what has coverd these women)
most of these women think they are just a big "genital organ" and they must cover themselfs from head to foot with that putrid stuff.
curse on them... sorry, I have said it before, but they are some stupid "bi*tchs" in my opinion. maybe I'm an unvieled bi*tch in their opinions too. no matter....
they wear Cahdor and do whatever they want under that. shame...

Default Elaheye naz / Coquetry Goddess

baz --- again
ey elaheye naz --- O Coquetry Goddess
ba dele man besaz --- tolerate with my heart / agree with my heart
kin ghame jangodaz --- may this piteous/doleful grief ...
beravad ze baram --- leave my side
gar, dele man nayasood --- if my heart didn't rest
az gonahe to bood --- It was because of your sin
biya ta ze sare gonahat gozaram --- come till I forgive you

baz --- again
mikonam daste yari be soyat deraz --- I give my helper hand to you
biya ta ghame khood ra ba raz o niyaz ze khater bebaram --- come till I forget my greif with prayer**

gar nakonad tire khashmat delam ra hadaf --- If your rage's arrow doesn't aim my heart...
bekhoda hamchon morghi por shor o shar be soyat beparam --- (I swear) by God, that I('d) jump(fly) to you like a vivaceous bird

anke oo ze ghamat, del bandad chon man kist? --- who can depends his heart on your grief like me(who is he?)?
naze to bish az in bahre chist? --- this your demur/coquetry (more than it) is for what?

to elaheye nazi --- you are Coquetry Goddess
dar bazmam benshin --- sit in my banquet
man to ra vafadaram --- I'm faithtul to you
biya ke joz in nabash honaram --- come, cuase I don't have any art but it (I have no art but it -being faithful-)

inahame bivafaee nadarad samar --- these unfaithfulnesses don't have any effect
bekhoda agar az man nagiri khabar nayabi asaram --- (I swear) by God that If you don't inquire after me, you won't find me(any effect of me)

* I don't know If I've made this phrase correctly. "Coquetry Goddess" like "beauty Goddess"... omm?
** "raz o niyaz "means prayer but here means "love-affair"

Don't worry if you think It's a bit strange, and about word...well, most of them are outdated now in our daily conversations. but I translate all of them one by one so I think you can understand better.

elahe = goddess / naz = coquetry / kin(abridged of ke in) = cause this - may - I hope / gham = grief, sorrow / jangodaz = piteous - doleful / beravad = may he leave-go / ze (az) from - of / bar = side - baram = my side / gar(agar) = if / dele man = my heart / nayasood = didn't rest / gonah = sin / bood = was / biya = come / ta = till / sar = head - sare gonahat = your sin / gozaram = I pass* /dast = hand / yari = help-helper / be soyat = to you / deraz mikonam = I protract* / ba = with / raz = mystery - niyaz = need => love-affair / khater = memory / bebaram = I remove it / gar nakonak = if it doesnt / tir = arrow / khashmat = your rage / delam = my heart / hadaf = target / bekhoda = by God / hamchon = like / morghi = a bird / por = full / shor o shar = vivaceous / beparam = I jump(fly) / anke = that one / o = he / ghamat = your sorrow / del bandad = depends his heart / chon = like / kist = who is he? / bish = more / az in = than it / bahre chist? = ... is for what? / bazm = banquet / benshin = sit down / vafadaram = I'm faithful / joz = but-except / in = it / nabashad = isn't - won't be / honar = art / inhame = these all / bivafaee = unfaithfulness / nadarad = doesn't have / asar = effect / nagiri = (if you) don't get / khabar = news / nayabi = you won't find / asaram = my effect

* "ze sare gonahat gozaram" is a idom which means "till/so I forgive you"
** "I stretch my helper hand to you" = I help you

_____

I know that I couldn't translate this gorgeous lyric in a good way, I think you know my english it needs getting better
anyways... if there ss any question Vandi is here :X

The other week I saw Mansour and Dariush in concert, it was amazing. My favorite part was when Mansour sang his song "azize delami". I can sort of understand the meaning, but if anyone can translate it, that would be great!

Mansour - Azize Delami

Goleh man ey nazaninam
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
To cheshat nashineh shabnam
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
Mane dar be dar migardam tuyeh shahre cheshat
To koocheye khaterat
Ta miyad ru ghabeh panjereh mishineh neghat
Rasti mimiram barat
Toro har kas ke nanide
Maste khoobi to shenide
Ey to hase bi tahamol
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
Ru cheshat nashine shabnam
Tane to zarif tar az gol
Toh azize delami
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
Doone doone
gole poone
mirizam be rooye moohat
Daste daste
gole Maryam
mirizam jaye ghadamhat
Dele to jedseye halmas
arzeshesh bishtar az inhast
Goleh man ey nazaninam
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
Tu cheshat nashineh shabnam
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami
To azizeh delami

Can I just say Salaamateed?

Are you a musician or do you just like to listen? Oh, and you write English very well. Better than many in the U.S.

P.S I am still downloading. So far there are some good songs..keepers. Thanx

Ecoliqua,
Sorry to her about your boyfriend. How tragic! I hope you are moving on because life is way too short. Anyway I see you referred to as Laura? Is that your name translated? Oh yeah nice hat. By the way, was that you I saw in the running of the Bulls?

Hi Gregory,

Nice to hear from you! Salam!
Laura is my real name. This name is of Latin origin meaning "Laurel". The laurel tree or sweet bay tree is symbol of honor and victory. You can call me "Laura pirozy" ;-)

Nop, for sure was not me running with the bulls. I do not like very much those traditions of my country... I believe animals should be respected as much as humans. I dislike any kind of abuse of power against the weaker, whether fisical, economical or intellectual. And this applies to animals also.

I've heard "nilufar" and "amar" and "persianality" so far. nilfar is amazing, thought the lyric is nonsense :-(
Salaam Vandi Azizam,

Hope you're doing well

this is where I got "persianality" from....not sure if this is the bad quality link.
