Hi Noesje ... welcome to this forum deary
yes... all those lyrics are in Farsi(Parsi/Persian), not dari :-) you didn't make mistake. be sure that all of them are in farsi cause I can't translate Dari unfortunately :-(
anyways, as my dear Laura said, you can take something from easypersian and this forum too, thought I know my translation is not a good source to learning Farsi.

Vandi

yes... but if you pay attention you see there is a cut in Nilufar, when they say "toee namehraban ba man, makon joor o jafa ba man..."
and just 2 hours ago I saw an interview with Kamiar(one of those three boys) and he said the album would be released 4 months later :-) they have made 40 songs before it without any company... lol
their first album was really good too, thought I have just one track of that. which says "manam mikham ba to hamishe, bemoonam age beshe, age injori nashe, khoda akhe chi mishe..." I don't know if it's repeated in the new album :-)
Love
Vandi

Vanda was so nice to give me some links to download Gorg o Mish (THANK YOU VANDA!) but I didnt managed to watch it yet. I have a Mac, and it seems most of those programms do not work well in my computer... I need to try harder.
Regarding Vanda not liking Iranan music and films... well, I understand the reasons ways. I am sure that if I were Iranian, I wouldnt be listening many of the songs I do listen now. For us this is a choice and an entertainment. We can freely go in and out of the iranian culture as much as we want, and that makes all the difference.
|
Hola Laura,
Thanks so much for the very nice words.
You look very interesting with the arab headdress. I wonder how you would look with a chador...
In regards to "A Taste of Cherry" I agree that it can be a difficult movie to watch. I read the synopsis and director's interview about the movie before I watched it so I was able to enjoy it better. I'm curious about Gorg o Mish I'll probably watch it this weekend.
I perfectly understand Vanda about not liking Iranian movies. The head to toe covering of women even in interior scenes is beyond my comprehension. Persian women are so beautiful, it's such a shame that they are kept hidden like that.
One thing that I have in common with Vanda is that I don't like the movies that are made in my own country either. Most movies made in Hollywood in the last few years put me to deep sleep.
Questions: are there any persian radio stations or stations that play persian music in Spain/Madrid? Who is your favorite persian artist or group?
Saludos, David.

Vanda,
You are very welcome
As an outsider it baffles me to see how women get treated in iran. The head to toe covering just doesn't make any sense to me. I hope that some day young progressive people like you can make all the needed changes in your society. And hopefully will start by getting rid of the chador so the whole world can see the physical beauty of persian women hidden for so many years...
David.

Well, as a matter of fact, the men garment fit me better than the women one, maybe because you could not possible identify me! as just my eyes where show. I dont know where I have the picture, but if I find it I will post it. I remember the owner of the dresses didnt want me to wear the menīs one and was always pushing me to wear the womenīs one saying "use this, ese this, you look better...". Better?!... if you cant see anything, I thought!.

I also have no words for this strange habit. Worst thing is that some people that defend this tradition, do not even realized how wrong it is. And the first step to change something is to understand that is wrong.

:-) with the exception of some musics and movies, I am not a great fan of the art in my country. I believe that it is part of our innate curiosity to search for things different to ours. But i perfectly understand why people generally like Spain so much.

Hallo Ashoori,
Searching in my i-tunes I have discover a singer named "Juliana Jendo". It was you who recomended it and I absolutelly love it!. She is great.
I also really like the remixes of DJ Illezt! He is great! ;-) Great bits!
I just have a question regarding nationalities and languages:
Where Juliana Jendo, Linda George and Shabnami Surayo are from and in wich language do they sing?... I like the three of them.

Salaam, Shalom, Salam Aleykum and Hello to everyone.
Vandi, you are amazing! I've been going thruogh this forum for 3 days (when I have time) and I'm still only up to page 21! I figure it'll be a another week before I'm finished!
I'm getting a bit confused with pronounciation of Persian from this forum. I'm used to seeing the different "a" sounds spelled differently: eg...
mikham - I'm used to seeing as mikhaam
I've been listening to Persian music for about 18 months. I love most Middle Eastern music (I lived in Israel in 1973-1974) - yes I'm probably lots older than all of you (I am 53) - but Persian and Israeli are my favourites.
Of all the Persian music I listen to my current favourites are: Black Cats (Next Level), Jamshid, Omid, Shadmehr Aghili, Soroush, Touraj, Homayoun Shajarian (and his father, the Master, of course) and Niyaz. I have more than 250 Persian songs.
For the last 6 months, I have a special Internet friend who lives in Tehran. I've been trying to learn a bit of Persian but because his English isn't great, translations are sometimes very hard for him. But he's learning more English too, so we try to help each other.
I live in Byron Bay, Australia (born in Sydney) and I speak English, German, a bit of Hebrew and almost no Persian. I've forgotten most of my high school French.
Has anyone translated: Toh Mitooni by Shahram Shabpareh? If so, I've been looking for it but haven't come across it yet. If it's not been done yet, I have the words in Persian, so I can post here, if someone can do it.
Sooz

Has anyone translated: Toh Mitooni by Shahram Shabpareh? If so, I've been looking for it but haven't come across it yet. If it's not been done yet, I have the words in Persian, so I can post here, if someone can do it.

Hi Sooz, greeting to you and really welcome to this forum, hope you stay with us.
sorry about my spelling from farsi to english (pinglish? ;-) you know... when we want to writh farsi with english letters we do it as we want, so you see different, but if there is any problem I can explain.
and about english...
you know... Arabic is second language in school (I mean in Iran) and then English!! so we persians have problem with English (I've studied my highschool in Dubai but in an Iranian school with the same system)
it's not my fault or your friend's fault if our english is weak, our system of education was been wrong.
in highschool, our lessons in literature of persian are so hard, we study 14 centuries of our language. which is tottally different with modern persian.
also the lessons of arabic are too hard and unneedful, I have a Lebanese-Persian friend, she speaks arabic fluently but she admitted: these lessons are too hard, but unneedful.
but about english... the lessons are too easy unfortunately, so we have basic problem with English. we have to try to improve it by ourselfs, or personal classes, and It's a bit hard, I mean time and...
any ways... I did your request, but if there is any problem let me know, you see... I didn't have the song to listen and I just had the lyric.
LOVE & HUG
Vanda

To mitooni / You can by Shahram ft. Black Cats
vaghty jaye khande gham mishine roye labam --- when the sorrow sits on my lips instead of smile
teshneye navazesham --- I'm thirsty for pat
khaste az khastegiyam --- I'm tired of my tirednesses
vaghty ke dastaye man garmiye dasti mikhad --- when my hands want the heat of a hand
vaghty ye lahze khooshi be soragham nemiyad --- when (even) a second of happiness doesn't come to me
to mitooni ghamamo khak koni --- you can bury my sorrow
to mitooni gonehaye khisamo pak koni --- you can clean my soppy cheeks
to mitooni delamo shad koni --- you can make my heart happy
to mitooni mano az dard o gham azad koni --- you can get me off the sorrow and grief (you can free me)
to mitooni... --- you can...
mah hamishe asheghe --- the moon is in love always
to hamishe asheghi --- you are in love always
toee ke mosababe lazate daghayeghi --- you are the reason of joy of moments
be tane mordeye man --- to my dead body...
to mitooni joon bedi --- you can give(it) soul
be ragaye khoshke man ghatre ghatre khoon bedi --- (and you can) give the blood to my arid vessels, drop by drop
vaghty ke shab mirese asemoon siyah mishe --- when the night arrives, the sky gets dark
gham o ghosse to delam ghade ye donya mishe --- the sorrow and grief in my heart become as much as a world
vaghty ke dastaye to khoonamon dar mizane --- when your hands knock at our home's door
dele man poshte divar az khooshi par par mizane --- behind the wall, my heart flys because of happiness

ofcourse I do it for my beautiful friend,
but...OMG... I don't like her songs from that time when she has moved to Canada...
her latest albums are awful, I can't listen to her new songs even for 1 minute, I want that old GooGoosh :-( and her songs in 30 years ago :-( I love them
I'll do it and then you can understand what I'm saying about..

Hi Vanda,
The translation is amazing! I can easily put the different sounds in for the transliteration once I hear the words sung. For example, this is what I've done:
toh mitooni ghamamo khaak koni
toh mitooni gonehaye khisamo paak koni
toh mitooni delamo shaad koni
toh mitooni mano az dard o gham aazaad koni
When I write it this way (I hope I have done it right), then I know how to pronounce the Persian. When you have the advantage of knowing the words, then you know how to pronounce them. I'm still in baby-school for Persian! LOL
In any case, I'm very grateful for all the transliterations, translations and explanations. You've been an enormous help! I'm definitely learning!
Thanks so much! And thanks for the welcome!
Sooz

Can anyone translate (or point me where, if it's already been done) Majnoon - Black Cats. I know some of it in English, but too many words are missing!
Sooz
Black Cats - Majnoon (Album: Scream of the Cats)
Biyaa biyaa delam baraat tange
Aasemoone cheshaat che khosh range
Taa labaat ghoncheye khandoone
Joone mani azize dordoone
Biyaa biya baham berim khoone
Bi to khoonamoon ye zendoone
Hanooz axi ke bahaam dashtim
Rooye taakhche pishe goldoone
Biyaa kenaare ham baashim
Hamishe yaare ham baashim
Biyaa kenaare ham baashim
Hamishe yaare ham baashim
Aakhe yaare man toee
Daaro nadaare man toee
Aare aasheghet manam
Sabro gharaare man toee
Begoo toam delet baraam tange
Deli ke baa delam hamaahange
Aage raahemoon zeham doore
Vali ghalbemoon che yek range
Biyaa taa abad baaham bashim
Behtaarin aasheghe donyaashim
Vaase ghesehaaye fardaamoon
Mesle majnoon mesle leilaashim
Biyaa biyaa delam baraat tange
Aasemoone cheshat che khosh range
Taa labaat ghoncheye khandoone
Joone mani azize dordoone
Did someone call the cats in the house
Tell me who we are "The funky Cats" (X3)

Hi Vanda, no trouble at all.
Here's the translation:
Y pasa la vida mi vida --- And as life passes my love* (*literally: "my life")
Solo me das alegria --- You only give me joy
Dias y dias --- Days and days
Vienen y van --- Come and go
Vienen y van --- Come and go
Henna henna he --- (No meaning in translation)
Enamorado --- I'm in love
Henna henna he
Siempre a tu lado --- Always by your side
Este amor asi --- This love like this
Que la vida nos llevo --- That life brought us
Me tienes enamorado --- I'm in love with you (lit. "You have me in love")
Henna henna he
Y pasa la vida mi vida --- And as life passes my love
Solo me das alegria --- You only give me joy
Dias y dias --- Days and days
Henna henna he
Enamorado --- I'm in love
Henna henna he
Siempre a tu lado --- Always by your side
Este amor asi --- This love like this
Que la vida nos llevo --- That life brought us
Me tienes enamorado --- I'm in love with you
Henna henna he
Solo verte para saber --- Only by seeing you I know
Que te quiero tener --- That I want you
Todo tu cuerpo --- Your entire body
Y toda tu piel --- And (all) your skin
Cada dia vuelvo a entender --- Every day I understand
Que no puede haber --- That there can be
Nada mas fuerte dentro de mi ser --- Nothing stronger inside of me
Henna henna he
Enamorado --- I'm in love
Henna henna he
Siempre a tu lado --- Always by your side
Este amor asi --- This love like this
Que la vida nos llevo --- That life brought us
Me tienes enamorado --- I'm in love with you
Henna henna he
Vanda, do you know if there is a translation for the arabic verses?
Also, do you (or anyone in the forum) know of any other songs in spanish by persian artists?
Two little tidbits:
Cameron has virtually no accent in spanish! He almost sounds like a native speaker.
Also, the music video was filmed in Cuba:
YouTube - Cheb Khaled & Cameron Cartio - Karia Hena (Arabic-Spanish)
Enjoy!
David

I just have a question regarding nationalities and languages:
Where Juliana Jendo, Linda George and Shabnami Surayo are from and in wich language do they sing?... I like the three of them.

Salam, i LOVE juliana jendo aswell, she is considered almost as high as googoosh in assyrian music along with linda george aswell..
im also a big fan of dj illezt too :P, thats because i am dj illezt lol
Juliana jendo and Linda george are assyrian singers who both currently reside in the US at the moment but were born in iraq and shabnami surayyo is of tajiki descent from tajikistan (north-west of iran) but i am not sure where she is from but i know she is famous in afghanistan aswell
