Well, as it seems we have more people around translating, i would like to have some translations from Googoosh:
--Ahooye eshgh
--Dokhtare darya (this was the first Iranian song I ever hear in my life)
--Parandeh
Pol (what means Pol?!... My second surname is Pol :-). In spain everybody has 2 surnames, the first one from your father and the second from your mother, and kids will inherit the first one of each parent. So Pol is the surname of the father of my mother.
Well, thank you in advance to the ones who help translating,
Laura

The song is called "Arash, Arash" and it features Helena. The part that I put "Helena" means that it's Helena that's singing.
"Pol" = bridge

Dear Laura,
Here is ur song
Enjoy!

befarmaayid:
p.s. "fadaaye saret" is tough to translate into English, literally it means "may it be sacrificed for your head", meaning that your head is much more valuable than whatever 'it' is. But as an expression it means "don't worry" or "whatever" or "it's no matter". I chose "it's no matter" for the translation.
FADAAYE SARET
rafti namoondi bi vafaa/you left, and didn't stay, unfaithful
engaar asar nadaasht do'a/it seems that prayer had no effect
ghalbe mano shekastiya/you broke my heart
ghosseh nakhor, fadaaye saret/don't be sad, it's no matter
gofti ke chaareh safare/not sure: i THINK it means "you said that the only choice is to travel", here meaning to leave
gofti do'a bi asare/you said prayer has no effect
negaaham har rooz be dare/everday, my gaze is towards the door
ghosse nakhor, fadaaye saret/don't be sad, it's no matter
(x2)
fadaaye saret age man kheyli tanhaam/it's no matter if I'm very lonely
fadaaye saret age geryoone cheshmaam/it's no matter if my eyes are teary
fadaaye saret age delamo shekasti/it's no matter if you broke my heart
migan aasheghe yeki dige hasti/they say you're in love with someone else
delet dige az shisheh neest/your heart is no longer of glass
cheshaat mesle hamisheh neest/your eyes are not like before
to gol nemirizi be paam/you don't spread flowers at my feet
dige nemimiri baram/you no longer die for me
aaghoshe to baraaye man/your heart (technically "your bosom" or "your breast", but it's meant as heart here), for me
engaar dige jaa nadaare/it seems, doesn't have room
doostam nadari midoonam/you don't love me, I know
in dige amma nadare/but this one doesn't have any "buts" - as in "ifs, ands, or buts"
(x2)
fadaaye saret age man kheyli tanhaam/it's no matter if I'm very lonely
fadaaye saret age geryoone cheshmaam/it's no matter if my eyes are teary
fadaaye saret age delamo shekasti/it's no matter if you broke my heart
migan aasheghe yeki dige hasti/they say you're in love with someone else
delet dige az shishe neest/your heart is no longer of glass
cheshaat mesle hamishe neest/your eyes are not like before
to gol nemirizi be pam/you don't spread flowers at my feet
dige nemimiri baram/you no longer die for me
shabaaye tareek o siyah/in dark and black nights
maho seda nemikoni/you don't call out to the moon
ghofle sokooto dige ba mojezeh va nemikoni/you no longer open the lock of silence with miracles
rafti namoondi bi vafa/you left, and didn't stay, unfaithful
tanhaayee sakhte bekhodaa/loneliness is hard, to God
baaz zire gholet zadia/you broke your promise again
ghosseh nakhor, fadaaye saret/don't be sad, it's no matter
gofti na fekre raftani/you said you aren't thinking about leaving
na ahle del shekastani/nor are you into breaking hearts
deli namoonde beshkani/there isn't a heart left for you to break
ghosseh nakhor, fadaaye saret/don't be sad, it's no matter
(x2)
fadaaye saret age man kheyli tanhaam/it's no matter if I'm very lonely
fadaaye saret age geryoone cheshmaam/it's no matter if my eyes are teary
fadaaye saret age delamo shekasti/it's no matter if you broke my heart
migan aasheghe yeki dige hasti/they say you're in love with someone else

Thank you Addoosha and thank you Nooresabz,
whyt for you as a simple event as typing a few words in Google and copy-pasting the song, for me is a "Impossible Mission". So thank you very much. For me is even difficult write your names with Roman fonts ;-) A d d o o s h a, N o o r e b a z... I always have to look up for the right spelling. You repeat every vowel twice! :-)
Well, I must go to work! Luckily, tomorrow and after tomorrow is a bank holiday in Spain and many other Catholic countries. In many countries, this week is called Easter and they celebrate it with rabbits and eggs, but in Spain we called it "Holly Week" and do noot have Rabbits at all, only images of Virgen Mary and Jesus Christ going around the town in a kind of parade (there is also thousands of believers going behind the images (of Christ or Mary) wearing this long, dark garment with a kind of long hat (similar to Kukusklan ;-) but has nothing to do with it) and there is also a band playing music (sad music). I am not very keen on this, but the atmosphere in the strees is nice. I will go to Sevilla, where I am originally. Holly week is extremelly famous in sevilla.
So, Jupyyyyyy!!! we are in Holidays

Sorry, one more video where you can see the atmosphere in the street (people looks pretty fanatic actually, but it is not like this), and the police there in the midle ;-). It was a long time I have not seen those images (I have been living abroad my country for many years) and now that I have come back, I find our traditions somehow weird. But things are like this. :-) Enjoy them! and learn!

That's really interesting. I had a few friends in Spain recently and they absolutely loved it.
My username is actually two words that I stuck together: it's Noore Sabz meaning "Green Light". Noor = light, sabz = green. The "e" at the end of noor qualifies what kind of noor (light) it is (=green).

i couldn't find any english version online, so i couldn't double-check the translations. my apologies if it's weak in some areas:
Cheshmaaye Barooni
moondan o boodane baa to/being and staying with you
na dige tekraar nemishe/no, will never repeat itself
donyaaram ageh bedi/even if you give the world
delam azat saaf nemishe/my heart will not forgive you
to boro az in be ba'd/you go, from now on
tanhaayi yaavaram mishe/loneliness will be my support
na dige dooset daaram/i don't love you anymore
mahaale baavaram beshe/it's impossible for me to believe it (i think this means that it's impossible for him to believe her anymore)
heyfe ghalbam ke ye roozi be to daadamesh amaanat/what a waste of my heart, that one day i gave to you as an "amaanat" (amaanat is an object, usually, that you give to someone to keep safe and trust)
cheshmaaye barooniye man karde bood be eshghe to aadat/my rainy eyes had grown accustomed to your love
heyfe ghalbam ke ye roozi be to daadamesh amaanat/what a waste of my heart, that one day i gave to you as an "amaanat"
cheshmaaye barooniye man karde bood be eshghe to aadat/my rainy eyes had grown accustomed to your love
be Khoda jahannamam/to God, I am in hell
jaayi vase to nadaare/it doesn't have room for you
heyfe aateesh ke bekhaat/what a waste of the fire
rooye sare to bebaare/that would rain on your head
harfe man hamine ke/my words are this
boro peye kaare khodat/go get to your own work
harchi dard o gham o ghossast/all that is pain and sorrow and sadness
hamegi maale khodat/all of it is yours
be Khoda jahannamam/to God, I am in hell
jaayi vase to nadaare/it doesn't have room for you
heyfe aateesh ke bekhaat/what a waste of the fire
rooye sare to bebaare/that would rain on your head
harfe man hamine ke/my words are this
boro peye kaare khodat/go get to your own work
harchi dard o gham o ghossast/all that is pain and sorrow and sadness
hamegi maale khodat/all of it is yours
haalaa haghete beri/now you deserve to go
ye goosheyi zaar bezani/to a corner and cry (zaar is more intense crying, like maybe wailing)
az ghame naboodanam/in the sorrow of my absence
hey daad o faryaad bezani/to keep yelling and shouting
az Khoda ino mikhaam/I want this from God
hamishe aavaareh beshi/that you always be homeless (another translation for aavaareh is "wandering")
vaase darmoone delet/that for the cure of your heart
dombale raahe chaare shi/you search for the road of remedy
heyfe ghalbam ke ye roozi be to daadamesh amaanat/what a waste of my heart, that one day i gave to you as an "amaanat"

I'm very sorry to those of you who are requesting lyrics for googoosh, etc., but my farsi is not good enough to translate those kinds of lyrics. There are a few other members who were translating here before, maybe they could help out....

Hi Nooresabz (I confess once that you understand the meaning, your name is much easier to write),
thank you also for the song, I will use it to improve my farsi... :-) is not that I am really intendeed to speak it, but i like to understand some words. It is just a matter of curiosity.
So, could you please post the arabic fonts of this song?. For me is easier to read the arabic fonts than the transliterations to roman carachters.
By the way, where you and Persianleyla are from?!... I do not understand... are you from persian origing living in the States and Canada?... because it seems that you understand Farsi... and you leyla you look pretty Iranian... :-) but then you cannot translate Iranian songs yourself... I dont understand! :-)))
Nooresabz, do not worry about googoosh. Someone will soon translate them, you will see. :-) Positive thinking!
See you,
Laura

I'll put up Iran Iran later, here is Gole Hayahoo for now.
p.s. I do the translations myself so I encourage you to double-check and others to correct me if I'm wrong on anything
Gole Hayahoo
Ahay khoshgele aashegh, ahay omre daghaayegh/O beautiful lover, O the life of a minute
Ahay vasle be moohaaye to sanjaaghe shaghaayegh/O you with a poppy flower pin in your hair
Ahay ey gole shab-boo, ahay gole hayahoo/O fragrant flower, O tumultuous flower
Ahay ta'neh zade cheshme to be cheshmhayee ahoo/O you whose eyes taunt the eyes of a deer
Delam laaleye aashegh, ahay banafsheye tar/My heart is a tulip in love, O my wet pansy (the flower)
Nakon ghoncheye nashkofteye ghalbam ro to par par/Don't depetal the unbloomed blossom of my heart
Man ke del be to daadam, chera bordi ze yadam/I gave my heart to you, why did you forget me
Begoo baa mane aashegh chera baraat ziyaadam/Tell me why I, as a lover, am too much for you
Ahay sedaaye geetaar, ahay ghalbe roo divar/O the sound of a guitar, O the heart on the wall
Age dast tooye dastaam nazaari, khoda negahdar/If you don't put your hands in my hands, farewell
Delet yaase por ehsaase ay maryame naazam/Your heart is an emotional jasmine (the flower), O my dear tuberose (the flower) Note: Maryam is also a feminine name
Taa oon roozi ke nabzam bezane taraaneh saazam/I will make songs as long as my pulse beats
Baraat taraaneh saazam, to aahangio saazam/I will make songs for you, you are a song and I am an instrument
Bia baraat mikhaam az in seda ghafass besaazam/Come, I want to make a cage for you out of this sound

Hi Ecoliqua,
You're quite welcome, and let me know if there's anything I can try and do for you.
Here are the lyrics for Cheshmaaye Barooni. I found these online and took a quick look through, they seem correct:
Also, for general information, although Arabic and Farsi share many letters, we actually have a few differences in our alphabets. For one, Farsi has four more letters: p (پ), ch (چ), g as in grapes (گ), and zh (ژ). Also, we don't have two dots under the ی or above the ه as they do in Arabic, although if you use them, everybody would know what you're talking about. Also, in handwriting, there are minor differences in characters.
Yes I am in the US. I was born and raised here but my parents are from Iran and ethnically I'm Iranian. My parents taught me Farsi and I go back to Iran every summer, which helps a lot with learning the language....
I hope someone can help you out with the googoosh lyrics....
Again, feel free to let me know if there's anything I can do!
