By contemporary what do you mean? Also are you looking for music from Portugal or from Brazil? or just Portuguese in general?
Here are a few of my favorites...they are all Brazilian!
-Que Saudade by Exaltasamba
-Pra Mim Nao E by Sorriso Maroto (also there's a version by Exaltasamba too)
-Amanhã by Sorriso Maroto
-Tamborim, Cuíca, Ganza, Berimbau by Azymuth (this is a bit more alternative than contemporary)

É verdade. Hoje em dia é tudo muito comercial. Sobram os belos sonsSempre gostei muito das músicas de Flávio José. "Caboclo sonhador" é um clássico.
