Romanian to English "Fara sens"
Could you help me ? I'm listening this song all day ..
is AlbNegru "Fara sens"...
...but I understand only a few words
Could anyone help me to translate it into english (or italian) ?
Fara sens, fara soare, fara tine nu ard.
Doar in doi, fara ploi, fara nori peste noi.
Vreau sa-mi dai tot ce ai langa mine sa stai,
te voi duce usor catre rai.
Fara sens, fara soare, fara tine nu ard.
Doar in doi, fara ploi, fara nori peste noi.
Nu mai vreau sa te las, nu mai fac nici-un pas.
Iti promit nu mai spun, Bun ramas.

Here you are
Fara sens, fara soare, fara tine nu ard.-- Without meaning, without sun, without you, I don't burn
Doar in doi, fara ploi, fara nori peste noi. -- Only together, without rains, without clouds above us
Vreau sa-mi dai tot ce ai langa mine sa stai, I want you to give me all you have, to stay by my side
te voi duce usor catre rai.-- I will softly take you towards Hevaen
Fara sens, fara soare, fara tine nu ard.-- Without meaning, without sun, without you, I don't burn
Doar in doi, fara ploi, fara nori peste noi.-- Only together, without rains, without clouds above us
Nu mai vreau sa te las, nu mai fac nici-un pas.-- I don't want to leave you anymore, I'm not taking any step
Iti promit nu mai spun, Bun ramas.-- I promise I won't say anymore, Good bye
Fara sens means without meaning or things make no sense.
Now, if this translation seems to have .... no meaning....it is because the lyrics in Romanian don't have much of a meaning either! LOL!
Sometimes it's better to just listen to the music without understanding the words. It spares you the ordeal of actually trying to get some ...meaning!!

You're welcome!
Learning vocabulary through music is indeed a good method. Trust me
Next time you want a song translated, post your translation together with the song, so I can explain to you different things according to what I find in your version.
There is a thread of Gossip-girl where I did that so you could take a look in there too.

Um, while you're waiting [wink], I was wondering if the first part of what is sung is just the same lyrics later sung in Romanian but in what sounds like French?
I'm just learning Romanian---it's BEAUTIFUL---so I'll probably be asking quite a few dumb questions like that one so please be patient with me....but I really really want to become fluent in your limba as soon as I can so I can surprise my new friends from Iasi & Arad & Bucuresti.
Thanks.

Without doubt they are singing also in French....
(because one of them - Kamara, nascut sub semnul pestilor, originar din Guineea Franceza )
unfortunately I can't find the whole lyrics...
but this song is great, isn't it ?

Yes, zAgatka, it is fantastic! One of my favorite songs, regardless of limba, right from the first time I heard it.

I've just listened to the song and the part sung in French, according to my vague remembrance of French, is NOT the same thing they later sing in Romanian. Seems that the French part is actually the story of the song and the Romanian part is only the chorus which, out of the context of the entire song, seems indeed...meaningless or...fara sens! But together with the French part it starts to get some meaning
