Romanian music recommendations

Hey guys...

I wonder if anyone could recommend me some Romanian music? Maybe I'll go to Romania this year, so I'd like to get to know some songs that are popular there..... Are there any I absolutely have to know?

I prefer pop and rock music, but tell me whatever you think sounds good...
I know that there are lots of songs and lyrics already posted in the forum, but I can't download them all :-((

I think the songs and translations are very helpful in learning the language..... so I'd be really grateful for your replies!

I'm glad you might come to Romania, you have many many things to see. I hope you enjoy my country.

Firstly, I have my favourite rock bands (in my point of view, good music never dies) like : Holograf, Directia 5, Pasarea Colibri, Vama Veche, Iris, Vama, Phoenix.

"Voltaj" is also a good rock band

I don't listen Romanian music too much, but a song that I really like is: "in lipsa mea" by Smiley & Uzzi. search it on youtube; u're gonna like it

Akcent... My great romanian love I like also music by Activ, 3SE, Crush & Alexandra Ungureanu, DJ Project, Keo, Fly Project... Someone mentioned Voltaj, they are also super

i guess it depends what kind of music u like....
the rock bands mentioned are quite good, i'm glad u like their music.
i would add El Negro (which is a raggae band, u can start with the song "ploaia"), Taxi ("stelele care cad" and others), Vita de vie (rock )), Sarmalele reci (i love "daca n-ai fi tu"), Mihai Margineanu ("Cand te scuturi de zapada", "Mai stii" , song wich have great lyrics too), Paula Seling (she has a great voice, i reccomend you "Timpul")....and if i remember some more i'll be back to share.
