Thank you Lady A.. I've been studying on and off for less than 1 year.. But I've really started to focus lately, for the last couple months.. All of my learning comes from reading, and I've gotten to the point where I can read and write OK, but can understand almost nothing when i listen to people speak.. Which brings me here.. I've translated several songs, and am learning them and listening to them to get more used to hearing romanian.. I'd love to find some childrens romanian teaching tools, audio or video. That would help me.. because romanian is the 37th most popular language, learning materials are scarce..

How would I write 'i have been learning' in romo? invatam is I was learning, or I used to learn.. As fi invatam is I would learn.. Is there a phrase for that in romanian??

I don't really know about the existance of children teaching tools...at least not online, but keep up the good work you do by reading, and in time you will also be able to understand us when we talk


As for what you asked:

"I have been learning" can be translated in Romanian with present tense, giving the idea of an action that happend in the past, but has consequences or is continued in the present.

I've been learing Romanian for some months now = Învăţ româna de câteva luni.

I guess an English teacher can explain it to you better. For tips and rules of learing you can always see the "learning Romanian language" section of this forum.
