I just purchased a CD of Ukrainian songs by Rusnichok, The Nightingales of Ukraine, from CD Baby, and there's one song on it I've been searching for the lyrics online without much luck. You seem pretty fluent in all the languages of interest, in this case English, Russian, & Ukrainian. I can read and pronounce the cyrillic alphabet reasonably well, and I know of the differences between the Ukrainian and Russian alphabets. Can you please post the song lyrics for The Wild Gooses (Geese?) Were Flying, in Ukrainian (and/or Russian), Transliterated Ukrainian (and/or Russian), & English please? Thank you for any help.

Thanks, I'll listen to the whole song, and tell you if that's all of it, or if there's more. If so, I'll send you the song from my CD, if I can rip it and make an mp3 out of it. I appreciate the direct translation into Cyrillic, I can read it reasonably well, and I like to read it directly, so I can get the pronunciation correct for the characters.
I noticed that one word escaped you, it was:
"Дикі гуси до самотньої верби, Towards lonely *****-willow tree."
But isn't самотньої similar to the word Самотня in Гайтана - "Самотня боса song which you translated as barefoot? I know that there is a lack of articles in the slavic languages, so I think this probably translates as:
"Towards the lonely bare willow tree" Does that make sense to you? Or could it mean something else? Just wondering.

And here's my point:
bare - means naked - боса (without any kind of wear on your foot) or barefooted
lone - lonely - alone - etc. means just you - самотня

and that tree... I know the other meaning of the word p*ssy but I have my LINGVO translation exactly that way. верба - *****-willow (sorry ).

and just Willow means ива, not верба

Mariupol' (Мариуполь) is located on south-east coast of Azov sea. You can easy find it typing "Mariupol' " it Google Earth program.

I spelled it Марюпол instead of Мариуполь because the way you spelled it in English with Mariupol', the iu imparts more of a yoo sound than an oo sound after an r, although I should have figured out the soft sign by the apostrophe. My girlfriend is from Slavyansk (Славянск), and I've checked it out via the internet. I'd like to visit Russia & Ukraine someday.
