kako se kaže na srpskom "I'm not languaging very well right now, sorry"? ("I'm not Englishing very well right now", "I'm non verbal right now", itd.)

"Izvini(te), trenutno ne jezikujem"?
"Izvini(te), trenutno mrzi mi da mislim na bilo kojom jezikom"?
"Izvini(te), jezici su mi nestali"?
"Izvini(te), trenutno sam neverbalna"?

zdravo .
kako si, ima li vrucine u kod tebe?
Ja eto uzivam u vrelim letnjim danima i gledam olimpijadu. Hm..Srbija nije do sada osvojila ni jednu medalju, ali valjda ce uciniti nesto nasi teniseri po tom pitanju. Da li ti pratis Olimijadu?
Nismo s e dugo culi pa rekoh samo da te pozdravim i da kolko tolko ostanemo u kontaktu.
Pozdrav.

Hello.
How are you, has li vrucine at your place?
I eto to watch all the olympic games. Hm.. Serbia is not won a medal so far, but possibly will ??? after this. Do you pratis olympics?
were not with long ?? with but itself ??? and if ????? from contact

Hello.
How are you, is it hot where you are?
I'm enjoying myself in these hot summer days and watching the Olympics. Hm, Serbia hasn't won a medal so far, but maybe our tennis players will do something for that question. Are you following the olympics? We haven't heard from each other for a long time, but I said I'd say hi to you and so we'll stay in touch somewhat.
bye

li = question word, makes something a yes or no question. so "da li" is "Is?" or "vidiš li?" "do you see?"
vrućina is heat. it's in genitive because of the verb ima.
pratiti is to follow someone or something. like in Toše's song "pratim te"

hrm, they're not that different actually, but there are a few words that are quite different. i'm learning serbian for five months and i can't say i've had much trouble with croatian and bosnian. I understand the same amount i would if it were written in Serbian.

The most obvious difference between croatian and serbian is the "ij" thing. so if you're not finding a word like "vreme" try "vrijeme" you also have to know how to recognise what word is a verb and what is a noun, and be able to figure out what case the noun is in and put it back into nominative, or the dictionary won't help. and for a verb you need to know how to get it into infinitive form. I still have some problems with that, but it's getting easier.

Here's a dictionary that does both croatian and serbian: http://www.asusilc.net/finalpro1.htm

My brain approaches Serbian-Bosnian-Croatian-Montenegrin the way it approaches the differences between Texan, New Yorkain, Californian, and British.

hahahahahaha .. I am not quite sure how my brain is approaching it yet .. and maybe I have too many languages going around in my head at once. I was raised with English and French, and now I am attempting Croatian, Serbian, Macedonian and Turkish ..

yeah, sometimes it's a bit at once. my brain is attacking macedonian as if it were a bizarre mixture of english and serbian (grammar is much more similar to english than serbian grammar is, words much more similar to serbian words than english).

i grew up with English and learned ASL pretty young, also made my own language when i was a kid but i've since forgotten it. Then Hungarian from age 17, Serbian since this march - but i'm working vaguely on croatian and bosnian as well, reading Harry Potter currently in Croatian and have done quite a bit of reading in Bosnian. But my main focus is Serbian. And now Macedonian, whee. Learning Macedonian and Serbian together really does break your brains.

Hungarian is grammatically similar to turkish in some ways.

if you want to practice your listening skills, this is pretty good: http://www.objektiv.us/cinema/

*rereads* and yes, attack is probably the best word to describe the way i learn languages. brute force attack. flood my brain with input until my pattern matching skills kick in. memorise grammar charts, memorise words, read volumes of material.

I really want to learn Croatian too.. I actually went to Barnes and Noble today and tryed to find some books on learning Croatian and had absolutely no luck!

I even bought this Program called Languages of the Word [Croatian] and It really didn't teach me anything I didn't already know from talking to my boyfriend or looking it up on the internet but, some sites I find useful are:

http://learn-croatian.com/

http://www.hr/hrvatska/language/pozdrav.en.htm

http://www.skrause.org/language/serbocroat/noun1.shtml

http://www.masteranylanguage.com/cgi...tc=Games&vm=fc

and most helpful of all:
http://www.ielanguages.com/croatian.html

I also came across this site for Serbian and it is simply divine....
http://www.serbianschool.com/
Croatian and Serbian are very similar...

If anyone else knows of some sites or want to help, please don't hesitate to let me know

Cmok Cmok,
Nikol

Ne poznaješ me. (if talking to one person)
Ne poznajete me. (if talking to several people, or talking to someone formally)

zima mi je us sred leta
jos po zido preko puta tvoja senka
sojom luta
tu gde staves ja cu pazti
dir i pice kuca casti
samo jednom u to ime ne zaboravi me"

Nikad nisam čula za takvu rečenicu na engleskom
Ali od navedenih varijanti samo druga po redu ima smisla...
i to sa ispravkom:
"Izvini(te), trenutno me mrzi da mislim na bilo kojem jeziku"
