Hello all,
I've been trying to find this song for over 15 years now. I've tried several forums, and even offered a bounty, but still, no dice. I heard this song on a commercial to an early 2000's cop show, I went "OH YEAH!" and started singing it to myself for the rest of the day. Went to sleep, woke up, and POOF! song left the memory. I HAVE heard this song in my earlier years, so this is not a one-and-done song made just for that commercial.
It sounds like something from the very late 50's, early 60's, probably a Caucasian vocal band, probably 3 or 4 people, up-tempo and rhythmic, the lyrics have to do with the following:
As far as I remember, its a guy singing about how his significant other is leaving, and how if she would just turn around and see him cry, then maybe she'd stay. No, it's not Phil Collins lol, as I've been told over and over again.
I offer a $50 reward in form of paypal or money order mailed, if you can identify this song. I will be honest, and the reward will go to the first person who names it, after I verify it is the correct song. It could be from after the 60's, but my gut feeling says late 50's to mid 60s. You will also have my undying thanks, as I need to know who sings this song before I depart this Earth. (Which shouldn't be very soon, I'm only 35 lol)
