Without more to go on, you have try the following songs:
"Sweet And Easy To Love" by Roy Orbison
"For You Blue" by The Beatles
"Beautiful People" by Bobby Vee and The Strangers
"I Love You" by Heart
"I'm In Love" by EARTH WIND AND FIRE
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title
"wild thing" by the kinks.
Galisand, As best I can tell, The Kinks do not have a song titled, "Wild Thing". You may thinking of the song with the same title by the Troggs (but the lyrics are only a partial match for Lianasea's request).

The kinks do have a version of 'wild thing'. It's originally by The Troggs, but covered by a whole lot, including Jimmy Hendrix, Brian Adams, Steppenwolf, Fancy, Prozzak, The Runaways, Siberia, and so on.. The Kink's in my opinion's the best yet.
I don't see how it clashes with the description.. just a suggestion.. replies don't have to be certain. 8/
No, its not wild thing. Its very melodic, kind of "hippie" music. some more fragments of lyrics that I remember:
...in a very special way...ooooh it's true...iiiiiiii love you....tell me what to do.....
la lalalala lalala lalalalalala...
I"m going to try to write the notes to the song with what i remember from music lessons about 35 yrs ago. hahaha. maybe someone will know it from that. coming soon.
Thanks for your help.
Galisand, you have my apologies, no insult intended. A lot of people believe that Kinks recorded the original version or a cover of "Wild Thing" because The Troglodytes were discovered by the Kinks' manager Larry Page in 1964. It was Larry's suggestion to shortened the band's name to The Troggs. I would love to obtain a copy of The Kinks performing a cover of "Wild Thing". Do you know which Album/CD it is on? Is it a live version?
Lianasea, is it a male or female artist performing the song you are looking for?

I have it on my computer.. if you want I can send it to you.. just tell me where..
I have managed to get part of the tune written as sheet music. If anyone who is familiar with music of that era would like to plink it out I could email it. I can't figure out how to paste it in here. The singer was male. Thanks for all your help.

I think the song may be "You Showed Me," originally recorded by the Byrds but a bigger hit for the Turtles.
YOU SHOWED ME (McGuinn/Clark)
You showed me how to do
Exactly what you do
How I fell in love with you
Ohhhhh, it's true
Ohhhhh, I love you
You showed me how to say
Exactly what you say
In that very special way
Ohhhhh, it's true
You fell for me too
And when I tried it
I could see you fall
And I decided
It's not a trip at all
You taught it to me to
Exactly what you do
And now you love me too
Ohhhh, it's true
We're in love, we two
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
We're in love, we two
We two
You showed me how to do
Exactly what you do
How I fell in love with you
You showed me how to say
Exactly what you say
In that very special way
You taught it to me to
Exactly what you do
I agree with Grendl2000; has to be The Turtles "You Showed Me".
Thats it! Thank you!
