I found difficult to translate all the "ques" at the beginning of each sentence.

To be quite frank I still don't know what's better: to use "that" or "may" (for example: may the past not wipe off your laugh). If someone reading this has some thoughts or opinion about it, I'd like to hear them. Thanks!

Subjunctive in english is quite difficult, citlalli. I say so because even native english-speakers are sometimes doubtful about its use, and need to study it.
To use "that" doesn't necesarily indicates that is the subjunctive been used.
"I think that he says that" (Creo que él dice eso)
"I think that he say that" (Creo que (en el caso que) él diga eso...)
"May" and "Shall" are used rarely in nowadays speech, and it's mostly related to discourses and old english. They are grammatically correct though.
Normally subjunctive tenses are just the same as indicative, that is, you could have just said:
"The past (do) not wipe off your laughter" (Que el pasado no apague tu risa)
It's not everyday talk but it's grammatically correct.

Other posibilities:
"The past should not wipe off your laughter" (Que el pasado no vaya a apagar tu risa)

Funny you say "may" is old English, as I live in an English environment and hear it quite often -but it's British English, and we all know they're a bit more conservative with their language than Americans are.
