Yes, what does aleikum mean?
Something like al-eiku-m ?
By the way turkish equivalent of "salam aleikum" is selâmün aleyküm. "u's" in arabic or farsi become 'ü' in turkish. That's almost a formula.
To keep up with the vocal harmony, "salam" has become "selâm". I guess "e" is for the unwritten a, and â is for the written long a.
The hat on "â" means keep it longer, but also usually after 'L', it means make "a" approach to "e", and pronounce it half way between "a" and "e".
There was a tendency to write "â" as "a" but some did, some didn't, some does and some doesn't.

And the response "Ve aleyküm selam" does that mean
"That be upon you, the Peace" ?
And I think the turkish of selamün aleyküm would be
Barış üzerinize olsun!
However peace reminds me of war so may be it's better to say
inside Peace be upon you; (Get crashed under peace )

as LoOlya said aleikum mean be upon you the tense here is in the plural like if we said Merhabalar
it's a muslim's greeting the reponse should be va alyekum al salam wich
mean same for you or ( like if u you give me back my greeting ).
but is Barış üzerinize olsun!
a turkish greeting sentence ?
thank you all for explanations, they really helped me, thank you teşekür ederim !!!
Selâmün aleyküm means God's greeting be with you
