    Default bagpipes or nightingale?

the man singing from the minaret of the mosque in Ao Nang
    in the early morning
is a nightingale to his people
but a bagpipe to the tourists
    who want to sleep long

    Default decision

    walking along this lane
    I seek relief of pain
    'cause here I realize
that I live now, not twice

    who am I to complain?
    here I'll return again
to find my peace of mind
    I almost left behind

    I shall inhale this spring
as time is on a wing
    not dwell on memories
my heart it is I'll please

    who am I to complain?
when I walk on this lane
I know what I want to be:
    a blossoming cherrytree

    at my foot end
    lies your silence,
    your picture
    which does not seem to fade;
    many lipps
    I have analyzed since
    and sometimes
    I see my own scars
    in a mirror:
    for a moment
    I find myself totally
    unimportant

    impressions of Istanbul

the smell of hastily washed women
and the odour of rapidly sweating men
    hang in the hall
    where erotics
    dealt paradise
    a deadly blow

    Default morning dawn

    morning dawn
stands in a bright orange dress
    in the meadow nearby
    flirting with me,
    whilst farmers pluck
    silver sweat
    of the mown grass

Very good, amaryn. However, I must admit to loving bagpipes. It must be a genetic thing, though some people disagree! There are other instruments that affect me in the "fingernails scraping across a blackboard" sense, though . . .

I admit, I am not into country music (though you are from the "heart" of Kentucky and the mountains there are very dear to you, I know).
But I appreciate your attention. The lyrics are well understood and straight forward. Loneliness is a dreadful thing and noticeable all around us.
Thank you, Frankie! It is a theme which suits any style of music and indeed is being used by a great variety of performers, like- to name just a few - Nat King Cole,
Janis Joplin, The Doors, Diana Krall, Nina Simone, Dusty Springfield, The Beatles, The Stones, a score of rap artists , Elvis Costello, Elvis,
and certainly many country artists too.
Agree, Amaryn--all those people and more can express these lonesome feelings in song. Not everyone likes country or bluegrass music. I thoroughly understand why not. If I had not been born here, I wouldn't like this old-fashioned style of country music either. But as it is, it's in my bones.

I really liked the istanbul one, and bagpipes. Both having great line breaks. You seem comfortable with this style, so keep going like this!

Thanks indeed, Eccer! I think you could call them aforisms. I like at times to wrap my impressions as compact as is possible

LOL That was another delicate remark of yours. Istanbul I visited during my gigs on the Mediterranean and I had a chance to have a good look at it once a week. I walked a lot. It is an amazing place indeed, as contrastive as Rome, culturally a Superpearl.

In "Morning dawn" I wasn't sure if it should be "of the grass" or rather "off the grass" What do ya think, Flower Brother?

"Decision" includes some walking: thanks you liked it, in spite of your sore feet

You should never listen to me playing the piano with my long fingernails, which I need for the guitar!
Thanks for your comments and reading, Frankie.
    Appreciated as always!

i cant even count all the times that i've felt like writing smth like this, but there you did it and it's perfect

Amd did you know that pink-blossoming cherry trees are the signature of Washington DC in spring? They almost blanket the whole city

Ah cool I didn't know. I'm bad at basic poetry/lyrics theory. I just do it you know? What I learn is from you guys, and when I look up for new ideas and etc...

    Default seasons

first winter sat in my lap
but my hands were too cold for comfort
then I took a walk with spring
but I felt too restless to enjoy
when summer knocked at my door
    I was fast asleep
    then autumn woke me up
and brought colours back into my life
