You're hot –
You mystify
The girls on your arm can justify
A lot,
Giving it all to you
Clear you thought I’d follow suit
You walk on air,
Look down from high
Why would I look up -
I could be at your side
Don’t think there’s such a difference between me and you –
I’ll have some attention too
Chorus
Seems that everything’s moving in one direction
The energy’s kinetic, boy, you’re magnetic
Having some of what you got has become my obsession
I’m frenetic, boy, got to get it
Got to get it
You hit the stage -
When you enter a room
Your show’s the rage
But soon,
I’ll be showing too
So keep an eye on the queue
You walk on air,
Look down from high
Why would I look up -
I could be at your side
Don’t think there’s such a difference between me and you –
I’ll have some attention to
Chorus
Seems that everything’s moving in one direction
The energy’s kinetic, boy, you’re magnetic
Having some of what you got has become my obsession
I’m frenetic, boy, got to get it
Got to get it
If you wanted to work together
Wow the crowd with our double act
We’d draw them in whatever the weather
There’d be nothing that our show might lack
But –
If alone, on your own, is how you want to keep on
I’m down to play the field without a team
You’ve had everything and everyone for so long
And I’ve been left here just to dream
Don’t think there’s such a difference between me and you –
I’ll have some attention too
Chorus
Seems that everything’s moving in one direction
The energy’s kinetic, boy, you’re magnetic
Having some of what you got has become my obsession
I’m frenetic, boy, got to get it
Got to get it
This one didn't feel quite as tight as your first one (Desire No Longer) but it's cool. And it made me think, even beyond the immediate words, even lost in space for a minute thinking, hmmm, this sounds like a vicious-circle kind of thing: One sees another, critically, but then does the other. Then the first becomes the object lesson (or I should say impetus?) for the second. On and on, round and round. But anyway, good job I think.

Thank you for you feed back Moon, have you posted some of your work here? Definitely sounds like you have some writing experience on you!
I'd be happy to hear from you further - thanks again.
This particular song is very situational and, i feel, very 'musical theatre' as that was the context I wrote it in - almost to slot into a wider narrative. Just for the kind of unusual dynamic that's going on in the song (for mainstream Western lyrics if you know what I mean) I put it up wandering if it could stand alone...
No no I'm an amateur in every sense of the word Yes I've written/posted several things but all of them pale against the true creations around here.
Situational ... When I read other lyricists I sometimes think, there's something behind those words that I'll never know. Van Morrison is one. I've read some of his notes. And I like it when writers explain the background of a song. Sometimes it can put the whole thing in a different perspective.
Theatre, yeah I got a feeling of that and I thought it was important to the lyrics
