Has anyone a translation into English for me of a song the famous Carlos Cano used to perform a lot? The name of the song: MARIA LA PORTUGUESA

I'm posting the lyrics, I don't actually think I can give the best translation:

Here "querer" is a substantive: if you want to tell "because of love of an andalusian", I don´t agree. Someone sings to the moon, to the birds... to the love of other one. (I see that I should have put "to the love").

On the other hand:
"besó su boca
y se entregó".
I think that these two verbs must have the same subject, and "se entregó" sounds odd for a man. Maybe I´m wrong, of course.

[el] besó su boca - he kissed her lips
y [ella] se entregó? - and she gave herself away.

I may be more wrong than you as I am not a native speaker, I was just wondering
