La Ballata del Carbonaro is a very beautiful and meaningful song by folkmusician Riccardo Tesi, who I saw performing in Firenze.
Has anyone a translation in English for me?
Though I study Italian, I do not understand enough of it.

On Italian winefestivals they often sing "Madonnina dei Riccioli d'Oro, which -I think- is a wineharvest song.
Any help available?
Text and translation needed!

L'HA SCOLPITA IN UN TRONCO D'ABETE UN BEL PASTORELLO
A nice shepherd sculpted her in a fir tree log
DALL'ALTARE DI QUELLA CAPPELLA LEI GUARDA LA VALLE
From the altar of that chapel she's looking over the valley
POI QUALCUNO COLORI E PENNELLO L'HA UN DI PITTURATA
Then one day someone painted her with colors and a paintbursh
ORA E' IL SIMBOLO D'OGNI VIANDANTE CHE PASSA DI LA'
Now she's the symbol of any wayfarer that passes by
MADONNINA DAI RICCIOLI D'ORO STAI PREGANDO SU DIMMI PER CHI
Madonna with golden curls, tell me who are you praying for
PER QUELL'UOMO CHE SUDA IN UN CAMPO
For that man that sweats on the field
PER LA DONNA CHE SOFFRE DA TEMPO
For the woman that has been suffering for some time now
TU D'ESTATE SEI LI' SOTTO IL SOLE
In summertime you're there under the sun
NELL'INVERNO TRA IL GELO E LA NEVE
In wintertime, there among the frost and the snow
MA AL TEPORE DELLA PRIMAVERA
But in the warmth of spring
CIRCONDATA DI FIORI SEI TU
You're surrounded by flowers
FILO DIRETTO COL PARADISO
Direct line with Paradise
DONA AI MALATI UN CONFORTO UN SORRISO
Give comfort and a smile to those who are sick
PREGA TUO FIGLIO DIGLI CHE NOI
ask your son, tell Him that we
SIAMO CRISTIANI E SIAM FIGLI TUOI
are Christians and we are your sons.
SON PASSATO UN MATTINO D'AUTUNNO SUL VERDE SENTIERO
I have passed by the green path on an autumn morning
LA MADONNA DAI RICCIOLI D'ORO NON C'ERA MISTERO
Madonna with golden curls wasn't there, [it was] a mistery
NELLA NICCHIA DESERTA MANCAVA QUEL DOLCE TESORO
In the empty niche the sweet treasure was missing
E UN VIANDANTE CHE PASSA DAVANTI PREGAR PIU' NON PUO'
and a wayfarer cannot pray anymore
MADONNINA DAI RICCIOLI D'ORO STAI PREGANDO SU DIMMI PER CHI
Madonna with golden curls tell me who are you praying for
PER QUELL'UOMO CHE SUDA IN UN CAMPO
For that man that sweats on the field
PER LA DONNA CHE SOFFRE DA TEMPO

PASTORELLO E PITTORE DI UN TEMPO C'E' URGENTE BISOGNO DI VOI
Old shepherd and painter, we urgently need you
LA MADONNA DAI RICCIOLI D'ORO RITORNATE A RIFARE PER NOI
Please come and create again for us the Madonna with golden curls
FILO DIRETTO COL PARADISO
Direct line with Paradise
DONA AI MALATI UN CONFORTO UN SORRISO
Give comfort and a smile to those who are sick
PREGA TUO FIGLIO DIGLI CHE NOI
ask your son, tell Him that

I'll check the you tube and let you know. Thanks for the text anyway, though it doesnot sound very much like a winesong to me.
Actually from the comments I read on youtube it seems to be a winesong

Maybe, Lady A , you don't know Riccardo Tesi and his folkband from (probably) Firenze, so I'll ask you here once more, if you know it (I have songmelody and singing, but can't understand it completely. My italian isn't good enough
Is this "La ballata del carbonaro"?
Vita tremenda, vita tribolata/ terrible life, painful life
Di chi alla macchia va per lavorare/ of those who go into the hiding to work
Vita tremenda triste e strapazzata/ terrible, sad and hard life
Non si può creder quanto immaginare./ you can't believe it nor imagine it
Parte da casa ha poco lieto il cuore/ he leaves home, sorrow in his heart
Si riunisce insieme ai suoi compagni/ gathers with his fellows
Lascia la moglie sola nel dolore/ leaves the wife, alone and heartbroken
E i figli scalzi e ignudi come ragni./ and his children barefoot and naked as spiders
Dicendole se giova il mio sudore/ telling her "if my sweat will be useful
Speranza ho di far buoni guadagni/ i have some hope to earn something
Soccorso vi darò poi lo vedrete/ I'll help you and you'll see
Comprerete il vestire e mangerete./ you will buy clothes and food
In Corsica, in Sardegna e fino a Rieti/ in corsica, sardegna up to rieti
Star sette mesi e non mi spoglio mai/ i spent seven months never taking off my clothes
Ma in cerca di fortuna/ but to seeking fortune
S'andrebbe anche nel grigio della luna.../ I'd even go into the darkness of the moon
S'incontra una foresta alta e bruna/ He goes into a dark wide forest
si fabbrica una cella per dimora/ makes himself a cell for house
si fabbrica di legno terra e sassi/ made of wood, soil and stones
sembra proprio il ricovero dei tassi/ it looks like a badgers' lair
Sette mesi bisogna coricarsi/ for seven months we have to lie down
nutrendosi del cibo più meschino/ eating the miserablest food
polenta e cacio si diventa grassi./ polenta and cheese ...
Per risparmiare se ne mangia pochino./ we eat a little to save them
Ora c'è l'ingiustizia e l'angheria/ there's injustice and oppression
il capomacchia il prezzo vuiene a fare/ the boss sets the prices
e fra tare rincari e fra rivelli/ and among tares, rising prices and...
credete a Dio ce ne rimangia mezzi/ believe god, he steals us half wage
Per S. Giovanni si fece fagotto/ for s. Giovanni they pulled up stakes
mezzi ammalati di febbre quartana/sick with fever
ritorno a casa stracanato e scotto/ he went back home worn out and dead tired
senza un quattrino e con la febbre addosso/ with no money but only fever

"-Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity..."
"-Actually, I'm planning to threaten you."
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have work to do. Evil plots don't just make themselves, you know!"
