Yes, amaryn is right "vertreiben" means in this case "to spend some time"
Danke, Tahira! Das Wort kannte ich nicht, jetzt habe ich wieder etwas dazu gelernt! Hast Du Ahnung, ob "durchdrehen" hier "Verrückt werden" ist. "Carry on" ist, meine ich nicht richtig.
