So wonderfully subtle. And I like this especially because it reminds me of a friend I had many ages ago.

"Had"? Where are they now? Did the friendship end?

It was many many years ago (20 or more?) and unfortunately I've had to move around a lot, all over the US. And it wasn't a gf, just someone that I met and grew close to. But now I can't even remember her name, it's been so long.

That is unfortunate. I cannot say too much, yet I wish close friendships did not have to end over such things.
