    Smile Your Own Weird-As Way

    Verse 1
There’s a voice in my head,
That won’t shut the hell up,
I don’t know what it said,
    I don’t care anymore,
    It’s trying to talk sense,
    But what can I do?
    Don’t know what sense is,
    Since I fell for you,

    Hook
You’re like a song on the breeze,
    And I’m begging you, please,

    Chorus
    You came from the sky,
    Like an angel on wings,
    Or was it from below?
    A siren that sings,
    I don’t care, I don’t know,
I just want you to say,
    That you love me too,
    In your own weird-as way,

    Verse 2
When you talk to me, boy,
    The stars seem to shine,
In the middle of the day,
    And each one is mine,
When you laugh, it’s the laugh,
    That stops the whole world,
    And I’m so amazed,
    That I am your girl,

    Hook
    Couldn’t be more surprised,
Then I look in your eyes,

    Chorus
    You came from the sky,
    Like an angel on wings,
    Or was it from below?
    A siren that sings,
    I don’t care, I don’t know,
I just want you to say,
    That you love me too,
    In your own weird-as way,

    Middle 8
    You’re the one for me,
You’re the one that I need,
When you leave, the world’s cold,
My eyes cry, my heart bleeds,
You’re my rock, you’re my fix,
    You’re my hero, my knight,
    Glowing at dawn,
    I know that we’re right,

    Chorus
    You came from the sky,
    Like an angel on wings,
    Or was it from below?
    A siren that sings,
    I don’t care, I don’t know,
I just want you to say,
    That you love me too,
    In your own weird-as way,

Could carry on - chorus x 2, maybe?

I don't have a tune. I just have the words.

Not sure why this didn't get any feedback yet, coz it's good! I'm sure it would be easy to "tune up"?

Gee, thanks I'm not sure about tunings though. I wasn't sure whether I wanted it slow or fast, or whatever... what do you think?

Hmmmm, well, actually it's not good to ask me about slow or fast because I love the idea of various versions or mixes of the same song. And I think this is one that could easily go either way .... sorry, I know that's no help at all

I can even imagine this as an SRV-style blues-rock number, considering the way it opens up.

Hmm... I'll have a look around My dad's pretty good at this stuff, though he's very broadway... I'll look up SRV blues. That's the Vaughan guy, however you spell it, right?

Yep, the late-great Stevie Ray Vaughan. Or Vaughn? You'll find it spelled both ways on youtube. I think he was the best blues-rocker ever. His brother Jimmy is still around (the Brothers) but Stevie Ray was da Boss Blues-er
