    the meaning changes between countries too. the word palomo for me is one of the biggest insults, but i have to explain it to 99% of the people i know since most people around here are American (Mexicans, Central Americans, etc)

    In my family, this means something is 'dumb' or 'not worth it.' Like my mother would say something like, 'esa novela está chimba,' which means, 'that soap opera is dumb.' I think different cultures adopt similar words but give them distinct meanings.

    Yes you could. To me, "pura paja" or "pura pajarilla" is similar to saying something like "bullcorn".
