    for black people, i call them negros or morenos. if you wanna say the n word, i'd use mayate but i hear moyo most of all around here. and for mixed it's mezclado

    Yes, it exists = afroamericano

    However, it's not as widely used as in english, as we don't have all that issue about being politically correct. It's much more common to hear simply "negro", and for a mixed person u could say "mulato/a".

    yea, saying african american is pretty stupid if you ask me. i mean, they're not from african, never have gone, and never will. they don't call white people european-americans, we're just white.

    i agree. i am black and i do not like that term because i am not from africa even though my origin might be. i dont care either. but thank you dmoney101 !

    I agree completely that African American was never a good term to describe black people.
    One reason is because there are MANY white people born in Africa! I believe senator John Kerrys wife was born in Africa, she is now an American citizen. That makes her an African American but she has white skin. Here is an article of about a white skinned man born in Africa who is now an American citizen who is sewing his medical school for harassment after he called himself an African American. It's soooooo stupid because he is much more African American than most of the black people in this country. He was born in Africa
