    Default Song from the 70's

When I was riding the School Bus back in the mid to late 70's there was a song that came on almost every morning for 2 maybe 3 weeks then it disapeared...I have not heard it since!! I have searched the web up and down gone to Billboard countdown sites to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

What I remember about the song:

Part of the lyrics that I remember: "I played among the flowers for hours and hours til the showers drove me away"

The song began with music and ended in A cappella. I remember children singing...maybe a choir. It was quite a powerful song...so I remember.

    Anyway

    Any help is appreciated!

There is a song called "Flowers" by Roy Orbison that has lyrics similar to the ones you remember:

    When I was a boy
    I ran among the flowers
    Looking left and right
    At the bright array
    I played through the spring
    Whiled away the hours
Lingered with the flowers ev'ry day

    Chorus
    Flowers, pretty flowers, flowers
    Life's a bouquet
    Flowers, pretty flowers, flowers
    Along the way
    When I became a man
    I felt the summer showers
    When I learned to love
    I also learned to cry
    When I came to know
    The beauty of the flowers
I wondered why the flowers had to die

    CHORUS
    When the summer ends
And the storms of life are over
    When the winter comes
    And the petals fall away
They may write it on my stone
That he was just a rover
But he stopped to pick some flowers along the way

    CHORUS

This song was released in July 1968.

    Regards.
