hi everyone, i just found this site. some very, superbly talented people out there. keep up the great work everyone! my first song lyric i'm going to post is something i've worked on for a few years and any feedback would be welcomed. thanks, everyone!

thick smoke rises above a midsummer haze
sand castles crumble beneath an auburn blaze
vagrants and prodigals weep the twenty third psalm

shadows fall flat from still standing walls
comfort is taken in the ever sacred laws
every restless night welcomes the same ol' dawn



what if the sun set in the east
what if the next moment was
a moment of peace


cell phone rings in a new day and age
privacy concerns take center stage
without regret or guilt, we share it with the universe

daddy's precious angel is lost somewhere
out with a preacher's boy who only pretends to care
when her friends get the news, they'll say she got what she deserved


what if the sun set in the east
what if this moment
brought you to your knees

what if there were no stars
on a clear night
what if it's all not worth the fight


water levels rising, no help in sight
scary how arrogance has reached new heights
what's lost is gone, they'll still call this place home

the jester bows out to welcomed change
voices far and wide praise the new reign
and we still wait for a difference to be known


what if the sun set in the east
what if their answers
are answers that pleased

what if the moon didn't affect the tide
would it change how we walked the fragile line

i should clarify that i wrote this a few years ago, it hasn't taken me 3 years to write it. lol.
