Default Up For A Challenge? More Pre-1970 Mystery Songs!!

A few months ago Claybricks, a member here, was able to ID a 42 year old song I recorded from an underground FM radio station back in 1969. I was amazed since I could barely make out any lyrics and the artist now is virtually unknown... and not even mentioned on the web.

I have five 90min cassettes worth of these damn tapes and I was able to ID most songs so far. But the quality is pretty bad and I can't make out the lyrics even using some audio enhancement programs. So if anyone's up for a challenge…. note all songs should be pre-1970

    http://chronos-historical.org/songs/03.mp3 an country instrumental.

http://chronos-historical.org/songs/04.mp3 a brief vocal segment after a long guitar solo. The male voice sounds so familiar... but I can't place it.

#4 SOLVED!!!! Vacation by John Mayall on Laural Canyon Blues!!!

http://chronos-historical.org/songs/05.mp3 a brief segment of an ad followed by a song that reminds me of Traffic but I can't find it on their first 3 albums. There's what appears to be a sax... so who else had sax players in those days? Sons of Champlin?

http://chronos-historical.org/songs/06.mp3 perhaps Dr John the Night Tripper but who knows. Has sort of a voodoo drone quality.

Thanks for giving these clips a listen! Don't worry… there's more!! LOL

Here are some of my impressions, very likely useless, but maybe a nudge in the right direction:
#1: I have no idea. Slide guitar.
#2: Male vocalist reminds me of the singer in Canned Heat. But did they use organ in their songs?
#3: Sounds like The Aggregation's sound (they had one album in 1968), which copied the Doors a lot, but it's definitely not The Aggregation. My point: Has a 1968 psychedelic sound that was unfortunately too widespread for ID purposes here.
#4: Does sound like Dr. John (also Dr. Hook of '70s), but also the style is very much like black vocalist/guitarist blues, like Muddy Waters, except the chord progression is not a blues but sounds like a long jam on a single chord.

Thanks for checking out the clips simnia. I ran the vocals from clip 2 through a program to, hopefuly, enhance the voice....

I think he's saying "I've been working" and there are songs by Bob Seger and Van Morrison by that name but I can't find samples. I should probably include the whole guitar solo since that might be a clue.

EDIT.... listening to the vocals in "Ready To Ride" by John Mayall, I can hear the similarity to Canned Heat.

    Thanks Mixalopoulos...

The little bit of lyrics I THINK I hear might not even be the name of the song. I only brought up the two artists because they were both around back then. I think it will all click when someone recognizes the song or the singer. I know, I should post to a local forum and see if anyone that once worked at this old underground station... closed down in 1969, is still around LOL

I think the singer is in the John Mayall band... or maybe it's him. There's a strong resemblance to the singer in Room To Move.
