Okay, there is a tune that some restaurants use for their birthday song. Something like:

"Happy Happy Birthday from [restaurant] to you,
We wish it was our birthday, so we could party too!!"

I am pretty sure this is actually an older tune that might come from some other song. It is obviously a public domain song (restaurants use it so they don't have to pay royalties to the folks who own the rights to the better known "Happy Birthday to you" song). I'm pretty sure the same basic tune is also in the song "Cookhouse" in the play and movie of "Oh What a Lovely War", but again I think that soldiers just made up new words for an old song.

So what I am trying to discover is what were the original words for this song, before restaurants used it for their Birthday chant, and before WWI soldiers wrote the song "Cookhouse"?
